there is this little app called adyno (aDyno - A Dynamometer for Android Devices) which can do lap times/ timed runs/ g-force calculations etc etc using phones accelerometer. I used this to do my runs and came up with the below graph.
In the graph you can see time/speed/distance. The little blips along the line must be gear changes. Overall a nice free app

So first level mods are done, next in line are wheels

Can someone tell where to find rear head rest for old zen?

Got the Estillo Fogs fixed today. Its not that difficult, all u need is the zen OEM clamps for the fogs coz the clamps that come with the estilo fogs dont fit the zen bumper.

Things Needed

1. Estilo Fogs @ 770 a piece but u need to know someone in MGA to get these as spares
2. Zen OEM clamps (U can get these if u already have zen fogs)

Reason for Estilo Fogs

The Estilo fogs reflectors are better designed and throw a more intense light than the zen OEM fogs. These are the same fogs that are doing duty in Old wagonr.

Will post some pics soon!!

got loads of stuff done to my car - part 1

well guys m sorry for not updating you'll on the car since quite a while.well lots of things have been added and removed .
well in sept 09 i blew my pistons so the engine had to be rebuilt. so this time i went in for 2nd over size pistons and did a 2k run in and in that run in changed the oil every 500 kms to make sure all was done well as the block had been rebored. did the run in and since i wrote last time i was contemplating to go in for a twin carb or single carb, and for twin carb i would have to make a specific manifold cast out of aluminium which was costing 8k upwards and with the current expense of engine rebuilt ( new pistons + other parts + labour) so i dropped that plan and what i did was that i bought another carb and gave it dr. panchal of accurate tuning works at grant road who is known to be a specialist in carb tuning and is a master with webbers as well. this is practially wears a doctors suit and work at his workshop. and his workshop is so clean that you find any dirt anywhere . so i bought another carb and gave it to him to tune it to a racing carb, well and what a fantastic job he did, the carb was superb, well i also got a Aluminium flywheel , this is got used but was as good as new from a fellow zen owner who was using it on a twin cam engine and it was a direct import from japan. Original suzuki gtr racing flywheel ( atleast thats wat i remember reading it as )

here are some pics of the engine rebuild .

sorry for pic quality was taken from cell phone.

Piper camshaft bp 270

hey , so i finally got my cam hi lifted from piper, i contacted them first , and then couriered my existing cam to them and got it reprofiled and got it sent back . i got the bp 270 profil;e as i wantted more of initial power and this kicks in at about 1500-1800 RPM, cams with higher profiling kicked in after 3500RPM so i spoke to the guys at piper and asked them to give me the cam that kicked in early. i must say that the guys at piper took rather long to get it done as they were facing a manpower shortage and some technical difficulty as well. took approx 45 days to and fro. and after installing the cam the car Growls

Car came back from a complete service and new Pressure plate

hey guys, was not happy with the handling of the car & the car needed a service as well so i gave the car to my mechanic. a few days before deciding on the service i felt the clutch slipping as well. so i asked him to open it up, now upon checking it the clutch plate was in very good condition, but the pressure plate was burnt, whereas both were put in together brand new. and now the clutch had almost a good 50-60% life left in it so i decided only to change the pressure plate. now the thing is that all spare part dealers sell the clutch plate and pressure plate together as a ser and one cannot get any one item individually. so i called Vitesse for counter sales and they refused saying counter sales not happening anymore. and they gave this one no. of western automobile who sell MGP. now MGP has a poarts from a co called ceekay while all aftermarket products are from Exedy . spoke to a few people and made up my mind that MGP is what i need. these guys were excemplary in service. not only did they send their van for 1 part costing 1300rs all the way from bhiwandi to mumbai central ( more than 50 kms ) but they didnt charge me a single rupee extra for delivery. now thats what i call service. these guys agreed to sell only the pressure plate. I also got new plug wires as the old ones were faulty and new plugs NGK regular plugs, also got the oil changed . used shell helix ultra i think it was 5w-40 or 50 dont remember properly. oil filter petrol filter, got the k & N cleaned and now the cars back on the road..

Next up is koni but as of now that seems to be a distant dream.
