Re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

A friend of mine was looking to buy a Baleno and sent me pics of a car that he found on sale. I just saw this component in the engine bay which is not present in the Baleno that I have. What is this thing?

Looks like some CNG/LPG fitment to me. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes it does look like this car was fitted with lpg/cng. Do check the car properly incase if your friend is looking to go ahead and buy this car.

Thanks for the tip.

Picked up the rear wheel Hub from JK in Bangalore at 3100/- each. Made by NTN , and even the old one removed out of the car also is of the same make.

There was also another one available which was of NMK make which was about 1600/- each.

So, is it exactly the same part when sold as SGP part becomes pretty expensive?

Re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

Any one ever used K&N air filters ever for Baleno?

I am about to replace the SGP one, and was thinking to experiment with something different for a change.

Any inputs?

Stick to OEM. K&N stock replacement filter doesn't give anything extra. Add to that many people have raised concerns over it's filtration rate.

Shashi

I have a K&N stock replacement filter in my Baleno for many years now. I don't really have any data on whether it is better than the OE one or not. Couldn't really make out any visible difference in driving with it as compared to OE filter.

Please note that while K&N filter doesn't need to be replaced, it does need to be cleaned at certain intervals. The cleaning-kit is around 1500₹ on Amazon.

Re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

Have been living with a faulty irreparable combination switch for the last few years where in the headlamp low beam was not working. It gets quite annoying when I could not dim the head light from high beam. Hence decided to replace the switch. Got it procured through a MGP distributor - 4200/-

I bought a pair of OEM lower arm for my Baleno. Have been living with a terrible rattling and thud from the suspension when encountering pot holes and rough roads for the past few years. Procured from JK automobiles, B'lore for 3900/- (Make: Sushi, imported) and replaced. I do not know the quality of it, but happy if it lasts for at least 3-4 years. The thud noises have gone and the car is super silent now.
Info just in case if anyone looking for it.

Thanks for the info. I am also living with a bit of thud on bad roads, thought it will be hard to procure. Shall do as per your comment
