Anurag, I had applied Opti lens HL coating comes in a tube with foam applicator. As long as I stayed on stock lights these worked great. When i moved to 90/100 this started pealing off.

My experience with both Philips Extreme Vision and Osram NBU are mixed. While they are better than the stock ones, they aren't 80% better . They can be bought on deals for as low as 1.7k for a H4 set do look around online.

My advice is to buy aftermarket driving lights (Hella FF series, MicroDE etc) and get them expertly fitted into your Verna. You can also replace the included bulbs with a second pair of the Osram or Philips. Better to mount them set well back into your bumper using the foglight areas instead of sticking out.

Mind you, are you looking for city use, i.e. a low beam spread with a somewhat sideways diffused light to light up edges etc, or a pencil beam throw for highway drives? So as per all your suggestions, I will go with Xtreme Visions for now. If it doesn't seem adequate for my uses, I will go with a 90/100 setup.

Nowadays every tom , dick and Harry has his car fitted with a 90/100 set up.
That's the first mod they do right after delivery. The 90/100 is primarily for the highways. 55/60 is more than adequate for city driving.

I bought the New 2015 Verna 4S with projector headlamps. The owners manual mentions the wattage of the bulbs as 60/55, but does not clearly specify what kind of bulbs these are. Even during first service, the service adviser at Popular Hyundai was not sure if it was H4 or something else.

The light from the projectors are very focused unlike the reflectors on my i10, but the throw is not satisfactory.

I don't know if this is the right place to put my point forward. I have been recently seeing a lot of cars with headlights that are too bright. Even after I use night mode for my rearview mirror, the headlights of the car behind me binds me. And 99% of the time the car/SUV has projector headlamps. So please be careful while you modify your car headlights. Think about other vehicle drivers too.

Hyundai, most of the vehicles are with single Barrel Headlight light mount which contains H4 bulbs.

hey guyz, does maruti sell dzire's lower grill (air dam) separately. I am thinking about installing a pair of aux lights by cutting the lower grill. So i need to be sure that i can get a replacement grill if something goes wrong.

Thanks anurag. But i dont need this anymore. Yesterday i found a pair hella comet 450s while going through some old stuff. I used them on my indica a long ago. Spent whole sunday afternoon cleaning them.
And accidently broke them today while doing some wiring thing. Both fell face down front glass gone. So no more diy. I m feelin so bad.

I have a problem with the headlights of my Accord. The bulbs are HB3 and HB4, not the standard H4 ones.

If I run higher wattage bulbs, I cannot find a relay which will work with HB3 and HB4 bulbs. Where do I find a relay that can work with these types of bulbs?

Another alternative is to use HIDs. Are there direct replacement kits available for this?

The last, probably crazy, option is to switch to H4 bulbs. Is it possible to run four H4 bulbs instead of two HB3 and two HB4 bulbs?

I changed the left headlamp of our Maruti 800 this weekend. The light throw had become a joke and from 100 metres away it looked like a candle beside the right lamp.

My worry was finding a replacement (since many 800 parts have become hard to obtain), In the end after inquiring at 3 different (small) garages, I found a single piece tucked away in the far reaches of one such workshop. The unit was pretty old, 2010 and the proprietor of the place himself had some trouble figuring out how much it cost and what to charge. I cannot say I was thrilled at buying a (new) five year old reflector headlamp but it did seem wrapped ok and I figured as long as the bulb was new it should be ok. As it happened the bulb needed change as well -- the old one had a badly rusted set of pins and I dont want to go back in a few months for a bulb replacement.

A photo of the old headlamp unit with the new box packaging of the replacement lamp and bulb. Headlamp was Rs 160, bulb Rs 120, labour Rs 20 -- overall Rs 300 -- not bad I suppose. You can see how opaque the surface has become -- any solution to fix this ?

After hunting for quite some time. Here I have landed on the dedicated thread for Automotive Lighting.

I have been running with the Stock OSRAM 60/55W - 12V - H4 bulbs on my EcoSport before upgrading to "100% Original Philips Extreme X-treme Vision Car Headlight Bulbs Bulb H4 60/55W". Both have not given any credible difference, nor any assistance on highways or night rides. High beams are quite adequate while low beams are disappointing. Not to mention without fog lamps they literally do not help.

Could you suggest the best alternatives here. I am looking for something that gives me a far clearer vision and which works well on highways and in the rain/mist

Sounds like a badly designed reflector or mislocated/misaligned lamp (less likely). There is not much you can do about it. Just check the alignment once again.

I have heard of EcoSport reflectors not doing its job. I am getting the alignment checked anyway. What about the 100W - H7 with relay wire

Hi everyone , I have ordered Philips xtreme vision bulbs from powerbulbs on 17th July . I have not heard from them after the mail confirming the despatch of my bulbs. Has anyone got any idea how long they normally take to deliver to Bangalore . I am supposed to get w5w bulbs free with the xtremevision bulbs wanted to confirm if they are for the fog lamps . I own a duster and the bulbs I have ordered are h1 for high beam.
