Hi Pancham... the issue with the chrome lining I have seen being reported on the Facebook groups too. Looks like you'll need to glue it back possibly. Basically yet another known issue.

Regarding the door release.. try greasing the door folding swivels and check?

Alright. So the chrome lining is a common issue. I am a bit worried about the door. I think the rubber beadings are acting up. Not sure but I will get it checked at the service centre once.

Regarding Apple carplay getting disconnected, they said they need to reinstall the software.

Received my floor slush mats in the afternoon. Boot mats are not available, so they will refund me the money.

You can see the routing path in the video below. It's an easy task, shouldn't take more than 10-15 mins. The wires are pretty much hidden except for the last part near the footwell, where I have kept the excess wire as well.

Thanks for this but the issue with the newer models is that they don’t have the 12v socket at the front. We only have 1 at the back seat :(

So you use up the front USB port for that. That's all the option we have.

I too have an old Viofo dashcam. But I have found a usb type A cable which might work. So I will need to experiment with that. If it works will route it through the a pillar. But then again, I am worried that opening the A pillar panel might lead to rattling issues.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Some guy has posted on Facebook Compass group that he imported Rough Country 2 inch lift kit for his Compass. It costed him 71k including customs. He also fitted 235/65/17 Yokohama AT tires. This looks very good. He claims the ground clearance increased to 252 mm? Overall looks very cool like a Trailhawk variant. Not sure about real life handling.

While this is definitely a good mod to raise the ground clearance, wont this impact warranty and more importantly the gear ratios, speedometer readings and of-course the front and rear Axle CV joints. It will also impact Camber angle and most likely the vehicle end up with a negative camber.

I am quite certain the FCA will wash its hands off in case any issue related to the transmission or suspension crops up later. Would love to do this when the vehicle is out of warranty eventually.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

So, the base variant breaches the 25lac mark.
One of my neighbour has a 2018 Limited bought for 25lac.
In 2016, Endeavour 4x4 AT was cheaper than Model S today.

Visited the service center yesterday and got all these sorted. Could not replicate the door issue but they put some lubricant on the sides. Fixing the chrome lining was a long time consuming process. They had to open the tail lights, disconnect all the wires and open the panel which has Jeep written on it. Apparently, its a common issue. Some pictures from yesterday. They also updated the infotainment system software.

P.S: Embarking on a 1500km journey tomorrow. Hope everything goes well.

The Tucson appears more attractive with this price hike. At similar price points, Tucson base model appear loaded in comparison to compass, including safety tech and some feel good features such as pano sunroof and electric seats thrown in. Sizewise and also A** wise Hyundai would score better.

The Tucson always made more sense, but then it never sold like the Compass.

Three main reasons-

1. It lacked emotional appeal that the Jeep brand has in dollops.
2. Hyundai brand has struggled to get customers for its 20 lakh+ products.
3. Hyundai sales folks rarely push the Tucson. Walk in to a showroom and see how they pitch their other cars, while it will be tough to even get a Tucson test drive.

Completely agree with you. It took me significant cajoling to get a test drive of car and I was the few who got both petrol and diesel test drives back to back as per the manager. The Sales manager told me to go for Creata Diesel as the top end had better gizmos and he also told me that I will never use the additional 500/600 cc any time and will be paying a million more for little more space. He made me realize the rate per sqft i was paying was more than a South Mumbai apartment rate per sqft.
