Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Finally got the delivery of the L&K in Magic black yesterday. And loving it to bits just gliding over our wonderful Bangalore road conditions. Dropped it off for a full PPF today, so cant wait to get it back soon.

One thing I found annoying was that the AC's internal circulation mode always turns off when I switch off and start the car the next time. And I realize this only when I smell something bad from the outside. Is there any way to keep it permanently on internal circulation mode? Its annoying to have to do it manually every time.

Thanks.

Michelin doesn't seem to have any good tires in 235/55/18 profile. I went with "Conti SC5 SUV" recently. It is still too early to comment about the experience with them as I am yet to complete 1k kms but early impressions seem to indicate Contis are lot more softer and quieter. Got one of the Conti tires changed under warranty already as it had considerable wobbling. Warranty claim process was pretty smooth though, no questions asked.
Got a quote of Michelin Latitude Sport 3 at 23k per tyre and Conti SC5 at 19k. Any recommendations, I have used Michelins on my Vento and very happy with them, but have no experience with Contis. Any suggestions ?

Many congratulations for the car. Do post pics as black Kodiaq is a rare entity.

This AC setting is really idiotic - have to be hard coded.

If you want Michelin's, hunt a set of Primacy 4 in the stock size, do not settle for anything less. Continental SC5 is good too. Pirelli Scorpion Verde is another option, and the are runflat tyres. The new entrant, Vredestein Ultrac Vorti in stock size is a very good tyre too. If I were in your place, I would find a set of Michelin Primacy 4 or else get the Vredestein.

Thank you. Barely got a chance to take pictures. Posting the few I did take. Will post more once I get the car back after PPF.

Is there a way to hardwire it though? That’s the most annoying feature and I wonder why they even considered it!!

Here’s how the Air Care climatronic system works on the Kodiaq among other Skoda models. https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/...-skoda-models/

I guess Skoda didn’t factor in the “Indian” air condition when they introduced this feature. They should invent some smell sensors now

The Michelin P4 is not available, would the SC5 provide good grip and less noise ?

Congrats! Magic Black is lovely on the Kodiaq and it was indeed our first choice that got latter swapped to Lava Blue after a conflict of choice in the family.

On another note, assuming yours is MY23, do you know if the current models come updated to face the BS6 -2/RDE norms that is in effect from Apr 1 ? This is something I have posted to Skoda India and awaiting their response before I take delivery.

Enjoy many miles with the big bear!

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

So, the Avalanche is ready.

Test drove her in all modes for a good 70 KMS. Supervisor was kind enough to arrange a long ride which I already requested - "Sir, you are the owner, you can drive as long as you wish, but we want car back at showroom till insurance company doesn't release final liability report." Which I suppose will take 4-5 days to happen. I opened the cockpit door once again after 3 months & she welcomed me whole heartedly.

So far experience with Brite Skoda is pretty much good.

Car feels fresh to drive - she is as perfect as ever - no creaks / squeaks / errors.

Acceleration feels brisk as before.

Audio system working well & so is the AC.

Only issue left is dead battery - which I knew already - it's being promised to get a new one on 1st service under warranty.

Mr. Praveen Nagar & Mr. Vikas coordinated well to get repairs done.

Total bill is amounting close to 16L, out of which I am suppose to pay 5% salvage charge. As far as car has zero issues, I don't mind the charge.

The sole gripe is parts availability of Skoda - till date neither front camera bracket has arrived nor there is any ETA - Mr Praveen managed the bracket from another vehicle somehow - many thanks to him - hence beware if you damage the front camera system - may the God helps.

Its 35 PSI, if you hate stiff SUSPENSION & drive alone or with a single person can keep at 32 PSI - but FE will take a hit. If you move fully loaded with luggage most of the time can keep at 38 PSI.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Just pictures of my Black Skoda Kodiaq taken last year around the time of ceramic coating. I named him the Black Marauder. Completed one year last week. Has been a solid companion throughout.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

1. Fuel : I did fill in normal petrol, but based on the forum discussions planning to fill XP95 going forward. But have a lot of Bharat Petroleum stations around, is there a corresponding fuel to XP95 in BP ?

2. Floor Mats : Is a floor lamination recommended or 7D mats ? Any suggestions on good 7D mats if that is the recommendation ?
