Did not change the dashboard and side arm rests.

They have artificial leather options too from 15-60k.
Looking very neat

How different is genuine leather from artificial ones? Ultimately, aren't all of them artificial?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Finally we got our Innova Hycross GX O delivered. Went for a home delivery as I had work commitments.
We got our car almost after a year we did the first booking last April . It’s been a rollercoaster ride with at least 4 cancelled Hycross bookings. One cancelled Carens booking and and XUV 700 cancellation pending and one Hycross cancellation pending with another dealer.

Thanks to teambhp for their invaluable inputs, all your inputs have been invaluable to us.

Not a leather expert by any means, but the owner said this isn't art leather; he has like 7 varieties of art leather and only 2 varieties of leather and clear price difference so not sure why he would lie and plus he imports the genuine leather from gruppo Mastrotto apparently which are made from animal hide and not art leather . Even his listing on indiamart says the same: italian-leather-mastro-italia

I wanted something that wouldn't heat up like a furnace and compared to rest of his options, this certainly felt most premium (except the nappa genuine leather, which was equally good but he had it only in brown). There was a distinct smell and I could feel the texture difference slightly.

Stanley and studio saddles quoted me double his rate, so went ahead with fingers crossed, considered he was highly recommended by teambhp forums.

Thanks sir.
No, we did not pay anything extra. It was a rather smooth experience.

I had called the dealer and told them that I and my family would come and pick up the vehicle from their showroom on April 2nd at 3:30 pm. As it happened I was swamped with office work and I was finding it very difficult to make time to pick up the car. The showroom was almost 20 KMs away from home and it would have easily taken me atleast 3 to 4 hours to go the showroom, do the required formalities, pick up the car and drive home.
So in the interest of saving time I asked the dealer to deliver it to home. I had asked them to start after 1:30 pm and reach home before 3:30 pm. Idea was to give them enough time-buffer so that they don't rush it. I had also asked them to inform me when they start, so that I know what time they will reach approximately. SA called me around 1:45 pm that they're starting, that gave me window of 2:45 pm to 3:00 pm that they would be at home. I did follow up occasionally to check where they are

I thought that they would come home, drop the car, provide the documents and then leave. But, that was not what happened.
They came home aroun 2:50 pm, I walked to them and told please park the car on the side , so that I can park it inside inside and then you can handover the documents. Both the driver and the SA were a little confused at what I asked them. I was confused as to why they were confused, but I went ahead and took the car from the driver and parked it usually with the back of the car facing outside.
The SA meekishly walked up to me and said , please park it with front facing outisde so that we can capture delivery photos and make sure I can explain everything. We should make it a proper good delivery experience na sir.
I was surprised and was more than happy to oblige and told him knock yourself out.
That is when the driver again took the car from me , parked the car propertly as required. Then the SA Naboday took over.
* Explained about the front engine bay and caution about water falling on the ECU.
* He then went on to explan about the car, both front, middle and rear seat.
* He explained what is there in the dikki
* How to unlock/lock
* Infotainment system
* Remote connect app
He spent a good time explaining the important aspects. Much appreciated.
He then asked us to step inside our home to explain the papers and formalities. Very thorough and took care to make sure I understood the gaps and RTO charges which are not visible. Which I understood. He made sure I understand all the documents I am getting and handed over the documents.
Post this he took us back to the car outside and explained some more of the exteriors and even provided clarifications to any open questions I had.
After this he handed over the keys to us, took photos with family. He made sure the number was visible, I guess this is for their records.

He took photos of him handing over the keys, where I am taking the keys from him. Apparently this was very important to them, so I obliged .

Overall a good experience, highly appreciate Mr Naboday Roy and his team lead Ravi from Ravindu Toyota for a good experience. They had goofed up in the middle but they owned up to it and fixed them.
Highly recommend this team based on my experience.

Thank you.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hello BHPians, I am finally taking the call to go ahead with booking a GX O with Nippon Thiruvalla. I have been told the similar lines like what others have heard, 6 to 18 months is the standard waiting time for the GX O. Fingers crossed, hope the waiting ride is lesser of a roller coaster.

I will keep you folks updated. Is INR 50K the standard booking fee? Have anyone of you taken the Silver Metallic? If so could you post pictures.

Yes 50K is standard in Bangalore too.
I made a mistake that I booked with one dealer as he was close by and didn’t try hard.
Finally after a long wait I decided to book with all 3 dealers in Bangalore simultaneously and told , this what I want I am willing to pick it up this month.
Fortunately one of the dealers came through and gave me the exact car we wanted.
Hope this helps.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

I am planning to install 70mai dash cam.
Dealer told me that any wiring integration would lead to void in warranty. Can someone please provide some insights into this. He is basically saying if I connect to the USB port or ny charging port then it is OK, anything else will void the warranty.

Has anyone done 70mai installed, does it require fiddling with any circuitry within the car which could void warranty.

Thanks for you help.

No requirement for any circuit fiddling, the cables would just go through the trims above ABC pillars. You can connect the dashcam to USB or 12V socket for drawing power. Make sure the port which you are connecting to shuts down post switching off the engine and locking the car, otherwise it will drain your battery. For eg, in VW/Skoda, the 12V socket draws continuous power even after switching off.

If you are hardwiring the dashcam by directly connecting to battery or fuse box only then the warranty is likely to get affected. No concerns through USB/ 12V socket.

Hope this helps.

Would such an installation have any impact on the functioning of the side airbags?

I was told that dealerships stopped installation of seat covers for the VX model once it was equipped with side airbags.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hello everyone,

I had made a booking for hycross gxo 8 seater couple of months back and I am getting a bit impatient. This month's allotment comes in tomorrow and I casually enquired about the vx variant with one of the dealers in my city and he has one available. I was being cost conscious due to low running that I usually have 1k kms/month.

The dealer says that only their insurance covers unlimited battery services/repair and extended warranty is important due to this factor. Would anybody having the hybrid variant be able to help confirm?

The new car bug is biting me hard now and I was wondering what would it be like to even get a 7 seater(if available) and convert it to 8 seater. Toyota will charge me 97k for the seat change, though I don't know if they have it in stock.

Immense respect to most of you who waited it out, 2 months feels like a year to me.Hopefully I have my hycross soon.

That must have been a very corrupting experience

Unfortunately, I feel that this is sorely lacking in the non-hybrid versions. I drove a GX a couple of days back and the response from the engine at low speeds was dull. In fact, I had to overtake a stubborn car and when I put my foot down, it gained speed much slower than expected. The CVT wasn't helping much either. Another car was speeding up from the opposite direction, and I barely managed to overtake in time.

I remember driving the ZX(O) and finding no such lack of power at either low speeds or high. But that 6 lakhs difference between the GX(O) and the VX hybrid is no trivial amount either!

From what I have understood SA is offering you VX 7 seater instead of 8 seater GX O which you originally booked, first decide if you want a 7 or 8 seater, please don’t do a conversion even if it is from the dealer it is not worth it at all.
Check if they have a VX 8-seater available and if the budget allows go with it, any insurance from Toyota will cover the hybrid battery, and take the extended warranty if the budget allows, don’t get something you don’t want in the first place.
