Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Shadow Blue looks neat, but I have seen many cars with diff colors from the std.

Personally, I feel long lasting and looks ageless are colors like White, Black,Grey and Silver.

Take a look around many cars aged in Maroons, Blues, Green etc.

On the other note good news is IPL special edition Vento,

Ref from Autocar:

VW brings its concept of action models in India. The Vento IPL Edition gets a state-of-the-art touchscreen multimedia player that includes a built-in navigation system, i-pod control, built-in micro SD and mini USB interface, supports MP3/ WMA, interface for parking assist and Bluetooth.

It also gets plush leatherette seats, specially crafted door sill garnish with IPL logo embossed on it, floor mats adorned with the IPL logo, IPL badges on the C pillar and IPL logos on seat covers.

Apart from the special features that go into the car, Volkswagen will give all its Vento IPL Edition customers an apt gift of a cricket kit.

Sounds like a dealer initiative to boost petrol Vento sales. Or is this a new variant itself?

I for one cannot see the logic of this. As it is, cricket and bollywood is shoved down each and every aspect of commercial life in this country.

What has the IPL got to do with this at all? Why can't they just offer this as a variant ?...It looks like it has all the stuff that should have come on release, anyway!

VW and the IPL share no discernible brand synergy. Loud, garish, over the top VW is not. This looks like an effort a manufacturer would make to flog a dead horse... add some stickers and push out a special edition; NHC, Fiesta, Zen.. etc etc... is that where VW is already?

This is available in Blore as well. This is done on the TL version by the dealer. I saw one at palace cross and it wasn't very exciting..

Do people think it is clever, or trendy to stick T & C Apply on the end of stuff? In this instance, though, I suppose it is true:
Terms: You pay, assuming one of our salesmen can be bothered.

Conditions: You accept delivery When... We... Finally... Get... Around... To... It.

Yes, unfortunately, terms and conditions do apply

Re: Volkswagen Vento : Test Drive & Review

Guys, As I mentioned earlier my car is in transit. I will be getting it by next week. I need the following suggestions

1). Now my dealer(Elite, Blr) price list includes essential acc(Like Mud Flaps, Floor Mats). How is the quality of the ones we are getting from dealer? How abt fixing it from outside?

2). Insurance: I'm interested in 0% dep policy, Any recommendation considering my location Bangalore.

@sith_lord: I have booked my car 15th Nov 2010, Almost 5 months it took.

Hey TopSpeeder

My friend in Pune who owns a VW Polo has Bajaj Allianz Zero Dep policy and man, it really saved him. He had damages on the car worth about 26k+ and since it was zero dep, nothing went from his pocket. There was just 1,000/- processing charge that he had to pay.

Check with Tata Aig. along with zero depreciation, they have a feature in which you can claim NCB even if you have had only one claim.

Btw, have you checked with vw service centers as to which insurance companies have cashless with them?

This is how it works. You initial proforma and invoice doesn't include these accessories, which are optional. If you do not like them, you need not pay for those. I didn't take either of them. For my taste, the mat quality wasn't good (I took Kagu 3D, which fits extremely well. cost 4.5k though!!). I decided not to have mudflaps for now as it looked too big for me.

Get a quote from Elite. They give insurance through Bajaj Allianz. You could then call BA directly through the number in their site. See which one is the best deal and go with it. I got a much better deal directly from BA. What i understand is that, we will lose some benefits (cashless and then we will have to take care of informing and bringing the insurance surveyor etc), if we go with any one other than Bajaj Allianz. You may want to confirm all these.
