Creatine really does work for me by pushing the overall intensity and endurance helping you squeeze the last few reps out. Yet to see any water retention in the muscle though. I never load, as in take 05 gms a day post work out along with my protein shake.
Brief:- Been lifting on and off for the past 10 yrs. However been consistent only for the last two years. I am 34,..and gains are slower. But I shall keep with it. My goals are to stay as big naturally as possible, while maintaining under 20 % body fat. |
Creatine is to the natural lifter what Testosterone is to the steroid junkie.
My first suggestion would be to evolve your creatine type, from monohydrate to say an ethyl-ester. You will have minimal or no bloat and other mild sides of the monohydrate.
I have personally seen the most dramatic results from BSN's Cell Mass and coupled with NO Explod it is a very potent supplement.
You can easily go 10 weeks, that's what I have at max. Usually I do a 8 week on and 2-3 weeks off which is very creatine heavy with both pre and post workout creatine supplements. NoExplod+CellMass, Superpump250+SizeOn, NoExplod+CellTech is what I have tried.
Ideal is 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off. Creatine doesnt cause much damage, and in a world where steroid abusers go on endless cycles without any PCT, you can consider yourself really safe with creatine.
That said, everything should be cycled, even protein and types of protein. Taking 5gms and not loading is just fine, but do come off it. The kidneys get stressed a bit with monohydrate due to all the conversion of the phosphate to creatinine.
What I find working for me is, on a gaining phase- a postworkout product works wonders; and while trying to stay lean and keep the lifts going- it is the preworkout that helps. This helps cycling etc too.
I appreciate your honest goal to stay natural and under 20%; takes effort and heart!
Let me know if this helps.
Forgot to mention: I went almost 1.5 years without any creatine and found BCAAs, Multivitamins and L Glutamine are great when combined with a regular training program and hi-protein diet.
