Herman have ages-long warranties. I got an Embody seat base replaced under good will (it was flood-damaged), although I had to wait a long time for the local dealer to make it happen. Maybe they had to wait for parts that could slip sideways off an inventory, I don't know. But kudos to them, they did make it happen.

By the way: I don't like the Embody at all, and am now happier in a cheap chair. I gave the Embody to my wife, who spends minimal time at a desk.

We have transteel in our office (some 3000+ chairs). Its been performing well so far. Decent back support. And my organization is pretty finicky about health and safety. So there!

I've realized the home environment (without an AC) is very much unsuitable to have a cushion/foam based chair seat because it results in a lot of sweating and skin rashes.

So I'm back to using a plain plastic chair. Atleast there is no sweating and discomfort and skin rashes.

I've been looking for a height adjustable ergonomic chair with just a plastic base to sit on.
Wondering if there are any chairs that meets the above criteria. Haven't been able to find one until now.

My 11 year old son's teacher caught him fooling around in his office chair (rotating high back chair with wheels) during online classes. So got rid of it and picked up with simple fixed back chair without wheels on amazon.in for Rs. 2,900.

Anyone using wooden arm chairs for their WFH setup? I am thinking of getting something like Pepperfry solid wood chair
Will be adding a memory foam seat cushion (and a backrest if required). I am hoping these chairs will be better in maintaining posture compared to the wheeled office chairs, which somehow don't feel that stable on tiled floors. I was happy with my Featherlite office chair before the full day WFH situation.

Got this bad boy yesterday and I have nothing but all the nice things to say about this comfy chair from Featherlite. I had considered Liberate and Optima as well but nothing matched to comfort offered by Helix HB. Highly recommended

Got the chair delivered and assembled yesterday
Model : Transteel Fluid Basics medium back
Price : Rs.5970 (There is no delivery and assembly charge )
Warranty : 2 Years

Build quality is very good and not much wobbling. There is an adjustable lumbar support and back support is good. Overall happy with this chair and hope long term usage will be good.

All these are made by the same chinese OEMs. The local vendors just slap their logo on them.

Only the well known brands - HM, Steelcase, Haworth etc build their own chairs with their own components. Rest just rebadge chairs from chinese OEMs.

Yes true ! I have browsed the Featherlite chairs in their online store, but couldn't notice this. I feel Featherlite chairs are priced higher in their online store. Don't know if it is due to the WFH demand.

Folks,

Have this issue of a wheeled chair damaging my wooden floor.
My earlier chairs were floor friendly. But, the Steelcase chair I'm using currently has caused a good amount of damage to my bamboo panel flooring.

Any recommendation for a good quality chair mat? My online searches did not give anything interesting in India. Though found quite a few outside the country. But then, I was not sure of ordering them since there were bad reviews. This is one I found on ubuy. Any of you aware of anything similar available with in the country?

Have a look at this one. Had bookmarked this earlier but ended up getting a featherlite one. This wooden chair has an an ergonomic back angle to provide support.
