So now we hear that if India fail at the WC , Sachin could be made captain. Any of you see this as a desperate move by Sachin to prolong his career ? After giving up the captaincy himself, suddenly this..hmmmmmm.

And can anyone please explain what Raina is doing in the team for the 1st 2 one day matches ? I think Kaif should have been in there. If Sachin , Saurav and Dravid bat at 1,2 and 3 - we fall short of experience in the middle order...no Yuvraj, no Kaif, no Pathan (atleast he can bat) !! We have Dhoni (thank God) , Kartick , Raina (dropped for being out of form)......whats wrong with the selectors ? I know the opposition is the West Indies but still...

Kaif has always been at the receiving end of some poor selectorial decisions. Everytime he performs he is dropped....we need him.

If we take the same conditions for Dravid, he should be removed from the team following his poor performance in SA series.

This crisis is actually a secret ploy of our coach Greg Chappell.See we have the suprise element now for the world cup, tell me one coach who would be able to predict our final playing eleven, and thereby devise stategies well in advance before the world cup begins. Now coaches world over will only get their opportunity to study Indian players weakness on the eve of the WC match only[even that is unsure].Our batting order, bowling, players playing, game strategy, players in form all remains a top secret. The best part is we have now got the tag of underdogs.

Having a crisis before a world cup is a very good thing actually, ask the Italian football team.

Ps: Post to be taken on a humorous note only.

If it is any consolation, Pakistan got thrashed by SA in the first Test. But note that they got past 300 in both innings, something we failed to do in 5 out of 6 tries. Secondly, this is what the BBC sports website has to say:

Quote:
The second of three Tests starts in Port Elizabeth on Friday, when Pakistan will have prolific batsman Mohammad Yousuf and paceman Umar Gul and Shoaib Akhtar available.
I think it will be an interesting contest.

If we had managed to score more than 300, we would have won all three tests

For a change India is playing well today and I can't find them anywhere on Tata-Sky. What channel are they showing the India-WI ODI series?

Even my cable guy is not carrying this Neo Sports. Looks like that new ruling that says all channels should share their feed with DD put a damper on any channels bidding for telecasting. Talk about killing the golden goose...

Tata-sky had Neo sports. Only 2 days back was it taken off. Neo sports has stopped broadcasting to DTH due to some monetary issues.

It is available to some cable operators though.

India won the match by 14 runs. Ganguly did extermely well to score 98 (run out). Followed by fire works from Dravid and Dhoni (54 in 35 ***** and 69 runs). Gambhir too did well. Sachin added only 31 in his 35 *****.

Why did again and again our people are playing in those flat dead pitches. Its boring stuff

Another twist, now ganguly is injured and would miss out today's warm up match, hopefully nothing serious and he does play in the world cup now that he has greg chappell's backing as well.

If India wins against Bangladesh on 17th march, they are through to the super 8. If they lose, they will run the risk of getting eliminated in the prelimanary round itself. Therefore the most important match for India in the world cup will be their inaugural match against the potential banana skin that Bangladesh could be.

You should have had a word with Team BCCI. According to some reports, the team felt they can have batting pratice against BAN and lost.
