I was seriously considering in buying a new one, but boy this makes mine look like the prototype. Although I am sure that the m&m guys will be unveiling this, I seriously hope that they will declare that this model as a news leak and the original one to be unveiled will be a different one. But those are simply my hopes.

Looks nice IMO. Good work. A casual observer will feel it is a Tata Sumo.

Can you do something for the rear end? That's the most hideous thing on the car.

For all the talk about the 'design' (and I use the term rather loosely here) and the over-the-top body treatment that would make the neighbourhood car accessory shop proud, this vehicle is going to do well.

Mahindra is playing to its core audience, which loves its overt styling recipe of chrome, plastic accessories, fake scoops, blacked-out headlamps, sticker jobs and vague, pompous engine names. They don't really care about subtle bits such as getting rid of those awful rain-gutters in this day and age.

They will lap this up.

Mahindra should stop testing their vehicles with camouflage to save people from epic disappointments and also collect real time feedback. I mean, obviously their design team is weird and whoever approves such designs is blind.

I dread to imagine what the mini SUV is going to look like.

The new look will grow on us and it will take little time, hopefully if MM don't sell the current Scorpio along side the NEW Scorpio, a La TATA Safari and Storme.

Photos never show the true picture, hence I would like all to reserve their verdicts till they see the vehicle in person.

Front is definitely much better than the rear and rear needs to be worked upon. As Upreti said, initial batches are test vehicles and all the changes are worked upon in the "Facelift".

Mechanicals has been MM's strong point and we hope the NEW Scorpio has improved its mechanicals and worthy its name.

Holy smokes!

Let alone some designer going nuts, how does something like this get approved?
The front design, primarily headlights just doesn't work at all, with the rest of the car.
The less said about the rear the better.

I was actually hoping to buy this version, once this is people tested for 6 months. But this I cannot just digest. Tata, take my money! I am getting the storme.

Exactly. The rain gutters went out of fashion at least two decades back.

It will grow, no doubt there but by that time it grows sales figures won't help may be unless the mechanicals are a class apart and a huge improvement over the older generations.

This one is so much better . Cleaner lines and the hideous grab rails are gone. Also this looks lower than the original . How i wish it comes with a rear end that looks like this.

I hope this is just a picture effect and looks better in reality.

With such diminishing market share, M&M, wow such crazy output. Could this be the beginning of the end, is M&M going the Tata way. Customers will tell.

Look at the chrome bits on the front grill. Aggressive, is it not ? Edit:I would love to have it on a black Scorpio.

Looks like a mid-top end.
Note the blackened pillars. The roof rails too look different coloured, aluminium ?

I maybe the odd man out but I felt that both the front and rear are a decent improvement over the current Scorpio. But it is not as good looking as the Storme and yet will be better priced and will also have better featured interiors though smaller and will only increase the Scorpio sales in the mid term.

But they could have done a bit to the boxy rear shape.

Gawd, ugly, ugly! Very disappointed. The butch looks are gone, looks girly now. Seriously. I have always valued function over form and have bought ugly cars in the past because they were very good otherwise. But this is way too much :(
