Thats the old 3L Dicor engine. It should be yours for Rs 5 lakhs or so depending upon the condition. These depreciate more than any other SUV. Even a nice 2006 Scorpio (CRDe) will cost Rs 6 L.

Hi
I am planning to sell my Fiat Uno (diesel). The car is a 1998 model and it's done about 80000Kms.
The car belonged to my cousin and was registerd in Mumbai. I bought the car from him in 2002 and registered it in Bangalore.

Could someone give me an idea on what price I can expect for the car.

I feel thats a biased view from your side. Why did scorpio come in between, my friend is'nt even considering that unstable rocking cradle.

Used car market throughout India quotes the price for a 2006 Dicor EX at 7.50lacs.

BTW that Safari missed out of my friends hand and got sold at 7.05 lacs.

I think about 30% price depreciation applies for this class of cars.

Used car prices are high in Bangalore compared to other cities in India. Cosidering the mileage done and the condition of the car you could expect 2.4 lacs tops.

The car is in Kerala, to be precise Kottayam. Will that make the asking price dip ?

Yesterday saw a similar model car at Truevalue showroom for 2.65L in Bangalore. Considering that Bangalore prices are high and also Truevalue is giving 1 year warranty / 3 free services and also brand reliability, I think yours should go around 2.3L

Not sure if it had any accidents. For a 2006 model, I think you can pay around 2.25L~2.30L depending on the condition of the vehicle. For more details check carewale.com

Umm, what about the spark coming in with all those discounts? Wouldn't that sorta reduce demand/eat into the alto's resale?

Just curious - want to understand market dynamics.

I expected around 2.5 after looking at used car price at carwale a couple of months back. The max offer in response to a newspaper ad was 2.4L. Looks like 2.4L is the realistic price and I have to place the ad once again to see the responses. Will update this thread with the price once the car is sold.

How much can we expect for a 2002 december zen LXI. It has done only 26K mileage and is in immaculate condition. No scratches or whatsover.

Honda Civic (used): Negotiating fair price

So as I mentioned in this thread (where I discussed improving the Civic suspension), I am negotiating with a relative to buy his used 2007 Honda Civic 1.8S (AT) that was bought in March 2007 and has clocked 14,000 km. It is in good condition (servicing done as scheduled) and has 7 months of warranty left. The downside is that there is a scratch on the inner door lining just below one of the passenger side windows that will need replacement (or mending) at some point.

A friend of mine who often buys used cars for his company consulted his dealer who said that a fair target price for this car would be Rs 7.75 lakh given the explosion in people who buy C and D class cars and get rid of them after a couple of years (at least here in Delhi). He said that you can hook up a car like the Civic to a computer at an authorised dealer to check its true condition.

Given this I have offered him Rs 8.5 lakh, a premium of Rs 50-75,000 over this price since I know that the car is not a lemon. He has come back with an indicative price of Rs 9.5 lakh.

Should I raise my offer to possibly seal the deal midway between these, or am I being foolish since I could get a car for less than Rs 8 lakh with only a little more effort in checking out its quality etc.?

Any thoughts are welcome!
