That auto shut off feature is a honey.
Lets see if Amazon will come to us via Junglee.
The way it works at present is no difft( cost wise)

hello guys,
the lines for filling air are just too long these days. it takes too much of time and petrol waiting for ones turn and i mostly skip it. But incorrect air pressure hurts tyres, so want to buy a tyre air pressure gauge, here are the options i found.

this one is 'FLAIG' made in Germany:

I have the Michelin Tyre Pressure Gauge and it works just fine (see post #170 in this thread for details). This cost me $17, luckily a friend carried it from the US in Sep last year.

thanks NPV but i dont have someone to bring it from US. and i dont want to spend that much either. I am looking for a decent quality one that will last a few years. i think a simple instrument like a gauge should easily be within a few hundred rupees.

I'd recently purchased a tire pressure inflator pump from Autofusion, Bangalore for INR 2500/-. Its pretty decent in quality, consisting of a motor/pump that can be hand-carried and powered from the cigarette lighter socket. It also has an analog meter to indicate the tire pressure. So far so good.

Well, if its really "Made in Germany" and that too cheaper than the Taiwanese one, how come your decision wasn't made immediately?

We've been using these for few months. I believe I'd reviewed them earlier. Search in earlier posts, if interested. IIRC even Sgiitk has been using them for much longer and says they do last for a reasonable time. They are flimsy, very noisy and heat up fast (esp. in summer). But do the job of topping up 2-3 psi in 4 car tires in say 10ish minutes, if you keep the engine on. May not be a good idea for anything more demanding.

Consider buying Glowfast branded one. Out of the 2 I'v tried, one was Glowfast branded and one wasn't. Both looked almost identical. However I found the Glowfast to perform a slightly better. Can't generalize based on just 1 piece each, which please note.

The problem is i dont KNOW if its really made in germany.
If i did, it would be an easier choice. So asked if any bhpian had used it.

Not really.
Like its price, its cheap in quality,and quite likely iffy in reliability too.
The one about which I had posted recently, available at Kabir Shoppe inside the IndianOil petrol station opp Nehru Place, is of far better quality @ only Rs 1100/-; it fills up a flat esteem tyre to 30psi in just 1.5 minutes.Much more durable build quality too.
I suggest go in for that one- I've been using it for about a month & its pretty good for the price.
Its good to have something much more reliable handy, for emergencies & even for daily use.

I bought this inflator from ebay for about INR 3200 which includes shipping charges. It is a branded one, made by some company called 'Ring Automotive' of UK. The build quality is good too. I did a quick test by deflating one of the tyres of my Tucson to 16 psi and then the inflator filled it up to 31 psi in about 1.5-2 mins. It features a digital pressure setting with auto-off after the desired pressure is achieved. The hose also has a deflator valve to reduce the tyre pressure if required. The product was shipped from UK to India in 10 days flat by royal mail and then by India post !

Since nobody has replied, here is what you can do - try calling the seller and ask him bluntly if its genuine and reliable. Based on the reply, order it. Once received, check it out and see if its genuine, and see if the reading is accurate. If it isn't, open a dispute with eBay and ask for refund.

Just bought myself the following items on eBay:

1) Campbell-Hausfeld RP3200 300PSI tyre inflator with work light. This unit comes pretty well recommended on this thread, and has some pretty good features and a sturdy build.

2) 3in1 Solar Powered Digital Tire/Tyre Pressure Gauge. I really like the look and feel of this thing. It has a rather bright LED at the front and a well-lit LCD display that can display pressure in PSI/BAR/KPa/KgCm, as well as a depth gauge at the bottom. It has a velvety finish that gives good grippability(!!!), and is pretty compact for easy storage.
