Re: Best sites to buy parts online

Folks,

Has anyone ordered spare parts from motrparts.com? Any feedback? A friend is planning to pickup a Luk Clutch Kit for his Duster.

Appreciate any feedback on this.

Re: Best sites to buy parts online

I placed an order for some i10 parts from Partsbigboss(dot)in on 4th Feb and paid Rs.425/- 10% booking amount they charge for COD orders. The delivery estimate was given as 5 - 7 days but the order status today on 15th Feb still shows processing. On 12th Feb I sent them an email asking for estimated delivery date and that has not been answered yet.

Parts ordered:
1) Rear brake shoes
2) Front strut top mounts and retainers
3) Exhaust mid pipe

All these are readily available in the local market. Ordered on partsbigboss only so that I can deliver the car to the workshop with parts sourced. Now I will ask the workshop to source these parts as I cannot further postpone the repairs, I will consider the booking amount paid as lost.

My suggestion: Avoid Partsbigboss

Re: Best sites to buy parts online

As of today, Boodmo is the best. They have improved a lot of the last few years. As long as the part is "In stock" or "stock offer" in their lingo, they will deliver it within a week max.

Parts bigboss - Avoid. No change in the status of the order as on date and no reply to the email sent on 12th Feb.

Yes after a lot of disappointments in the past Boodmo surprised me with a set of brake pads! I booked a set of brake pads (boodmo fulfilled) and they were delivered although late but within a reasonable time frame. But I still have doubts on non boodmo fulfilled parts because a lot of my past orders of Hyundai i10 parts had to be cancelled after waiting for 2 to 3 months and had to escalate for refunds. Hope its better now.

I wouldn't call them best. I placed an order on Jan 5th with the estimated delivery date of Feb 5th. There is no sign of the item and my query got closed with the comment As checked, your order is placed with the international supplier, we are trying our best to arrange and dispatch your order as soon as possible.

In the current online space for automotive spares, I would rate them as best.

Yes, they are nowhere close to the likes of other ecommerce websites. The key is to keep an eye on the stock offers and fulfilled by boodmo offers. This will ensure that the item is in stock and will be shipped to you in a few days.

Typically back orders are dependent on the supply chain and there is nothing much boodmo can do to fasten the procurement.

As an end customer, I am not bothered about their supply chain issues. I agreed and paid based on the estimated delivery date. If they cannot keep their side of the agreement, they should at least have the decency to keep me updated and offer a refund. Now, I am having to follow up and all I am getting is an automated response that they are working it without any clarity on the dates. This kind of scam site should be taken to the consumer court, which is what I am planning to do after some more time.

Still, on their website, they claim delivery within 49 days for the item.

Yes, you are correct on the updated and refund part. They need to improve on that area.

What I do is, I see if the part I need is in stock. If it not then based on my urgency, I decide to either order it from HASS or order from Boodmo.

Re: Best sites to buy parts online

Bit the bullet and ordered the HANDLE ASSY, R. FR. DOOR OUTSIDE *T99* for my Honda Brio.
Expected ETA is 28th March 2021, which is not bad if you ask me.

NOTE: I always pay via payment gateways like Razor pay, instamojo using my Credit card etc as its much easier to charge-back for faulty goods or disputed merchandize.

In fact, i prefer this over the traditional cash on delivery aspect which does not have real guarantees.

Always pay via Credit card (rather than debit card, or wallets etc), as it very very easy to dispute with your bank in case of a failed order fulfillment or deficiency in service.

Do let me know if i can be of further help!

Re: Best sites to buy parts online

Having a tough time with Boodmo. I had ordered Glove Box lamp, switch and wiring harness on 8th March for Kia Carnival from them. The committed delivery date was 5 days but I kept receiving emails that delivery date has changed. Today morning, I see that the lamp was dispatched but switch was cancelled by them. What will I do with just the lamp without the switch? For someone who specialises in auto parts should have the common sense. Best sites to buy parts online-screenshot-20210323-10.32.02-am.png

This is normal. The cancelled status for Switch will change to dispatched soon since it will come from a different vendor now. This is an absolutely normal behaviour. Please wait for a day or two for the status to change.

Just an observation. I assume you are installing the glove box lamp in your carnival. The lamp you have chosen is boot lamp. Glove box lamp is different.

The part number for glove box and boot lamp is same (9262033000). Got it checked from Kia Malaysia as the Grand Carnival gets the glove box light which is missed in Indian version.

I got the lamp today but they have permanently cancelled the switch and wiring harness which makes the lamp useless. I have now ordered the wiring harness and switch from https://motorialkorea.com. The item is on the way now. Also ordered some other parts as well. He is an expert on Hyundai, Kia and Ssangyong parts.
