Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Does Nexon comes with Auto light setup ?

I am looking for an answer where the H7 setup comes with auto light setup.

Basically XUV500 auto light function turns on the low beam ( with projector setup) the moment its dark enough to use lights. And if you flash the lights, the high beam comes up momentarily without touching the low beam. This case can be ideal for HID since once they are powered on they are not disturbed.

However, when lights used in manual mode, while flashing the low beam cuts off showing only high beam unless you put on high beam which will lit up both low and high beam until moved to low beam.

I was wondering how HID works in manual mode since it may take some time to get fully lit after you flash the lights. Is this so ?

Experts your view please. This is the reason I am yet to try HID on my XUV.

I want to change the existing headlight unit to projector headlamps. I have read through the options the members have gone through, like OEM DIY, xenonplanet etc. I am not inclined for DIY considering the complexity. Any pointers in Bangalore where i can get it replaced? Evo doesn't seem to have favourable opinions.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Ive been doing some thinking and have decided to retrofit a set of morimoto D2S 5.0's (HID) on a chevy Cruze (2009).

The cruze comes standard with a single barrel H4 halogen bulb(60/55).

I seem to have run into the following conundrums;
1. Does the Cruze have a canbus system?
2. Do I need to get a bi-xenon canbus relay or will the regular bi-xenon relay suffice?
3. will running a canbus relay on a non canbus car have ill effects such as light flicker?
4. Has anyone here done this on a Cruze before?

Don't think the Cruze has a canbus enabled headlight wiring system.

I think you'll need to get this wiring harness: Motocontrol Bi-Xenon: H4/9003

Looking for ambient lighting inside my Ameo. Been highly impressed with Fiat's and wish to have one similar to it.

Please help with a link and experience of having installed one.

I will need the female for the 9007 and Male for the HB3/9005.

I got a good deal on a pair of very good LEDs during the Amazon Sale but the guy has sent this wrong connector despite ordering for HB3/9005. I am eligible only for a Return for 10 days. So if an adapter is available I will keep these else return it.

Can look at Rohin's Post #347. I ordered ambient lights for my car after reading his post of the XL6. I think they look really good.

Link for the lights.

Note: This is the base kit which includes lights for the front row of seats only.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Dear en"lightened" Bhpian's , I am driving a Mahindra XUV W6 of 2014 vintage. I find the Low beams pretty ordinary.Sometimes I check if I have put the headlights On or not.
So I am planning to change the bulbs to something more brighter.
The low beam has H7 12v/55w whereas the high beam has H15 12v/55w.
What are the best options for plug and play bulbs within the given wattage which will improve the lighting conditions.I do not want to cut wires and install relays, as there might not be good professional fitters in my city.

Hello Behemoth,
Sorry for the very very late reply. Didn't log in much for a long time.
The answer to your question is no.
Looking at my beam pattern, you can't even make out if there is a return wire.
Both the low & high beams are actually fantastic much better formed than the halogens that came fitted in the projectors.

Re: Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here

Hey bhpians,

I picked up a 2011 Laura TSI Ambiente recently which has pretty bad lighting and no fog lamps either . Will a bulb change help ? I'm open to other plug and play options if any. I have no idea of the specs when it comes to lighting so I would really appreciate some help on this . I have a 2018 GT TSI as well which has barely adequate lights but manageable. Would a bulb change that as well?

Thanks
Balaji

I am using this HID from Aliexpress in my Laura Ambiente -2012 TDI diesel and it works flawlessly and generates no errors.

Rs. 4,109.15 36%OFF | DMEX 12V AC 42W Fast Bright Fast Start Error Free Canbus HID Xenon Kit H1 H3 H7 H8 H9 H11 9005 9006 with Canbus HID Ballast

I did the installation myself and you need to orders the H7 version for the low beams. The ballast unit fits inside the headlight unit itself and no wiring needs to be taken outside. I have been using it for over a year now and also am using the same kit in my Jeep Compass too.
