Cross Posting from my other thread. Last Sunday I had a pleasure to attend 650's Anniversary Celebration meet in Pune

Read about it at this link (Dream of the Silver Surfer - My Royal Enfield Interceptor 650).

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Finally took delivery of my Interceptor yesterday evening
Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin-sreint650.jpg

The delivery experience at Baner showroom was nothing to talk about. A lady handed me the key and pointed me to the bike in their parking area. I even had to run after them to get the manual.

Was reading the manual last night and for service schedule, it says:
Quote:
Free Service Coupon - 2
(Valid till 5000 Kms / 12 months (OR)
10,000 Kms / 12 months whichever is earlier)

Free Service Coupon - 3
( Valid till 15,000 Kms / 24 months (OR)
20,000 Kms / 24 months whichever is earlier)

and so on
What do they mean by the (OR) ? What exactly is the service interval?

Exactly! That is so confusing. I have no idea if it's meant to be 5000km AND 10000km/12months, or 5000km/10000km/12months.

Also, Added new mirrors to the bike. The stock ones just weren't cutting it.

These are from the Avenger. OEM Bajaj ones. 500bucks for the pair.
They were a direct fit. No extra work required thankfully.

Wide, much better coverage.

Or here means 'whichever is earlier'.

Cheers,

Not sure I understand. 5000 is of course going to be earlier than 10000.
So why not just have the first line: (Valid till 5000 Kms / 12 months)

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Got my first random "check engine" light today. Literally just picked off the bike from the side stand, that too after having parked it for just 10 minutes.
Will take it to the service center tomorrow i guess.Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin-858106576_12442.jpg

Service intervals were revised in August. The 5k thing was pre-August.

Cheers,

Saw this tasty looking modified interceptor on MKDesigns Instagram page. The front fairing is a bolt on kit and fits the interceptor and gt both. If i ever get an interceptor this is the first thing am going to get from them!

Good effort but in my humble opinion, I feel the proportions arent right, bit overdone honestly.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Hello all,

It has been well over two months and Teknik Motors Indiranagar have not delivered my bike yet. What a bunch of lazy people! They are least bothered to even call me back after my numerous phone calls. They even have the audacity to disconnect my call. I had to go to their showroom only to hear that no stock is expected to come for the next one month.

Can anybody help me to connect with their showroom head or any RE regional head? I've already sent a mail to RE support, don't know if that would be fruitful but still hopeful.

To guys looking to buy Interceptor at Teknik, don't.

Thanks for your time!

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

So the engine MIL indicator was indeed a false positive. No actual issue with the bike.
But, i hit so many potholes on my ride yesterday morning that my front wheel alignment went off! Got it re-aligned. I'm glad the service center did both these things at no cost at all.
Now with 1000+ km under the belt, i can definitively comment that the front suspension is too soft. I wish the dominar USD swap were straight forward. I'd definitely love that stronger suspension up front.

Unfortunately, Tecknik is one of the least customer friendly Royal Enfield showrooms in Bangalore. My few visits there havent been great experiences either. It really feels like they are doing you a favour for every single thing that you ask. I would suggest you follow up on the email complaint, Royal Enfield's sales manager (or someone at that level) will get in touch with you and at least get you up to speed on things. If I were you, I would cancel the booking and take my money to the Jayanagar brand store or any of the other well run RE stores.

As neil said, it is better you cancel the booking and book it at RE brand store Jayanagar. I did book at BTM Brand store, seeing their lethargic and laid back approach, I had to cancel my booking and booked again at Jayanagar Brand store. Moreover from what I know, currently INT 650 doesn`t command that much waiting period, being custom colour I got mine in flat 1 week fresh from factory.

However If you still want to go with current booking, I just PMed the RE ASM no. You can check with him.
