I think he is being light hearted with 'dsg insurance'. It is called as extended warranty only

This is certainly not good news for the enthusiasts amongst us. A few weeks ago, a friend and I were in an animated discussion about this car and I'm sure he's going to be upset knowing that they have discontinued this model. I hope VW includes the GT model in the new releases coming up

This is what I posted few posts back. This is purely an example of exaggeration of a simple information. As per the manager at andheri East showroom, production has stopped - yes, but will resume and deliveries will start in 1st week of September. Current bookings will be for face-lift model only. How nicely motoroids have used one information to conclude a totally different news!

The quality of information posted on such on-line auto news magazines is very poor and misleading. They are mostly just re-tweeting what is on global automotive sites or magazines like Autocar and blogs like team-bhp. One needs to really take what one reads in these sites with a big barrel of salt!

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

The GT TSi with DSG is just too expensive & hence misses volumes. If VW can give us the 1.2 TSi with a manual tranny at around 8 lakhs, there would be more takers.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

GT TSI DSG and GT TDI 1.5MT is coming in Sept. GT TDI DSG coming in Jan. Confirmed by VW source who got me the WRC bumper, so its definitely reliable.

AND GT TDI's 1.5L engine is a lot lighter than the current 1.6!

Keep calm and ignore such idiotic reports.

That'll calm down a lot of people. Tsi and Dsg are some excellent technologies. Rather than discontinue them I'm sure vw will try to bring in some of their even better stuff into india. they are here for the long run.

that being said could you also find out from your sourceful person if they are going to introduce some substantial new changes to the new GTs like higher state of engine tune etc other than just a mere facelift ?

that'll be great. thanks.

My Vento Tsi is due to be delivered next week. I am getting a bit apprehensive after reading about it being discontinued and also another thread bashing VW. Hope I am doing the right thing, purchasing the car. Would like to hear your valuable inputs. Thanks

Tell your dealer you want to cancel / delay your delivery unless you get an email confirmation from VW that this model is not going to be discontinued in near future.
