I got my wheel alignment done at ASC and took the car for a test drive. That is when I noticed that my centre to full left is 1.5 turns while centre to right is little less than 1.5 turns (say 1.3 turns). Shouldn't it be 3 turns lock to lock?

This seems weird that it would have uneven centre to lock ratios. I fear something went off during the wheel alignment at ASC.

I just tried this. I have little less than 1.5 turns on both sides. This is for a Polo GT TSI.

Very recently started facing slight acceleration issue during initial take off, car is hesitating a bit.

Today I got my TSi to my factory which is about 30 odd kms from my home.

I was pleasantly surprised looking at the fuel efficiency of the car. Albeit it was with a featherlight foot, with no hard acceleration whenever possible and with the air con on all the time.

Good for you. Have achieved over 20 kmpl with aircon on short highway drives( 25 to 30 km) and close to 23 kmpl without aircon. Average speeds of 70 to 80 kmph though thats not the speed the TSI is supposed to be driven.

Hi Friends,

My GT TSI is around 4 years old now and I have noticed a very strange issue with the deterioration of the rubber sealing on the plastic panel in front of the ORVMs on both sides. The rubber has become brittle and has cracks.

This is very strange for me as this was never an issue with any of the other cars that I have or owned in the past. My 9 year old Innova has all its rubber parts soft and no signs of deterioration, even the swift which is 6 years old and parked alongside Polo does not have any such issue.

Has any of the fellow members have faced similar issue. I don't know the price of the OEM part but would like to know if it is available in the open market. I'm sure it won't be covered under the extended warranty which is still valid.

Request for your comments/advise.

Just dropped in TSI for 1st annual service.

Original estimate - 16k reduced to ~11k by:
1. Discussed with 2 dealers and went ahead with one giving 30% discount of labor - reduced to ~2500 from 3500
2. Removed wind screen cleaning solution - ~550
3. Removed 'germ clean' for suspension - ~3000

VW makes it mandatory to fill in 'additive' in TSI worth ~600. I'm told half the bottle of it will be given to me to be filled in tank full later.

And then no escaping from DSG failure fear. So purchased the 2+3 extended warranty- 18K. Didn't go for 2 yr RSA despite their insistence as the 2 year RSA bought with car will be active for another 1 year.

All in all, ~30k expense addition to the cost of ownership so far. I know this is DSG & highline thing but I miss my warranty free & easy on pocket days of Maruti

Yes it would.

It would take time for VW to know that you have fiddled with the ECU during a warranty claim.

Yes, but you can always reset it before you file a warranty claim and they'd be none the wiser

Had always hesitated to get Auto headlights done since I did not want a sensor wire stuck on the dashboard. So got myself a switch with an inbuilt one, just for kicks.

works great in my 2014 gt. apart from the usual auto headlight function, headlights and taillights switch on automatically on lock/unlock (duration is adjustable) when it is dark - coming/leaving home. Best of all, it's in the same brushed trim as rest of the car and looks premium.

I just got delivery of an auto-headlight switch with the extrenal sensor, which goes on the dashboard

Wish I had seen this product before purchasing mine.

This will work independantly on the rain sensor & will be compatilble with your car too.

Now that the Vento has a full LED headlamps setup, is it possible to retrofit the same in the GT TSI? If yes, how big a hole will it drill in my pocket?

But before that, are the OEM Vento lights any good?
