Here’s why it doesn’t matter:-

Variable Fuel Economy: Fuel economy varies from vehicle to vehicle even if it’s the same car, It mostly depends on the driver's behaviour and the driving conditions, as well as the weight carried by the vehicle.

The hycross powertrain has proven to deliver a consistent fuel economy of 16+ in all conditions, which is a reasonable and satisfactory level of efficiency for many drivers. It shows that the vehicle can maintain decent fuel efficiency regardless of external factors affecting fuel consumption. Furthermore, when the driver optimizes their driving by frequently switching between the electric motor and internal combustion engine and takes advantage of regenerative braking, they can achieve even better fuel economy (up to 21). This indicates that the driver's behaviour plays a crucial role in fuel efficiency, and a skilled or conscientious driver can improve overall mileage.

I stay in Bangalore and I am about to get delivery of my hycross zx(o). In Karnataka, private employees are not yet allowed to choose BH registration but I am considering an option to do it from Maharashtra (which is my home state) in case I don't opt for company's car lease.
For BH registration the road tax is payed every 2 years until 14 years and then its yearly payment starting 15th year. The tax rate is at 12% for vehicle crossing 20L.
I have a BH registration and have paid 43000 as tax for 2 years.

Hey, in the past I have had rodent attacks on my Vento and one of the reason has been the car cover which provides a dark environment for the rodents to play. I see from the pics that your car has been covered too.

As far as the rat prevention solution, the one which has worked for me is the tobacco leaf which were placed under the hood

Couple of questions.

1) Can anyone who's fitted the roof rails post a picture if you have it? I want to fit it but not quite sure as it kind of looks cheesy.

2) They're offering 12 lakhs for our old Innova (2015 ZX, but not Crysta as we bought it right before the launch) as trade-in value. Is that good value? It has around 65k kms and no major accidents or issues.

Thanks in advance.
Surprised you didn't get it yet after booking in November. Which dealer have you booked from?

I too was offered a sparkling black ZX(O) but I refused and got my booked attitude black ZX(O) a month later.

1. The roof rails are not functional but they look very good and the fitment too is almost like it was done at the factory. The rear underrun and door mouldings however are cheap plastic and can be avoided. They look decent but the fitment isn't the best on those as they are just glued on. My detailer was immediately able to pick it out as dealership level fittings and showed me how tacked on it looked compared to the other parts of the car. But the roofrails actually gave him pause as they look like factory fitment (they are not).

2. It's decent but you can get more if you are willing to sit around answering calls from OLX. Especially if it is Kerala registered.

Super helpful feedback, thank you Cresterk . I was "unfairly" comparing the roof rails to my 2020 Volvo XC90 (factory fitment) and no wonder I was being disappointed. Do you mind posting a few photos of the roof rail if you have then handy?

Yes, the old Innova is Kerala registered but I think you are right, we probably skip the OLX route for a few bucks more.

We had booked 3 ZX(O)s last year in November, 2 from Amana Toyota in Kannur, Kerala, and 1 from Nippon Toyota, Kochi, Kerala. The first one from Kannur was delivered last month (White ZX, no ZXO), the second one from Kannur this week (again no ZXO) and no word from Nippon at all (booking is for Blackish Ageha ZXO).

I have seen a few roof rails sticked on the roof metal (paint) instead of the rubber (corners of the roof) which looks odd. Please post pictures taken from the top of the car to give us a n idea. Thanks !

Here you go. If you expect the Hycross to be anywhere close to an XC90 in terms of fit and finish, especially in the interior, you are going to be sorely disappointed.

I think I tend to agree with you here, the roof rails stuck on the inner side of the roof rather than the roof drip molding (the rubber strip) looks weird. Most factory fitted roof rails are in place of the drip molding.

Thank you again! The rood rails do look a bit short and doesn't go full length as I thought it would be.

I have one more question to members who have fitted the side footstep. Is it necessary? The dealer told my parents who are old that it might be better for them and will help in egress / ingress. I generally don't like the footstep for monocoque designs and thought it wasn't required unless you have a really high body on frame SUV. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi, Has anyone in this forum booked their Hycross ZXO from Esprit Toyota Noida?
If so, would love to know the date you booked and when the vehicle was delivered.

I had booked the Innova Hycross ZXO on 1st December 2022 and since then have been highly frustrated with Esprit Toyota. There is no update from their end and whenever I call they just say that they can't give me any exact date on when the vehicle will be delivered.

As of today, when I called the SA, he said that my sequence in the queue is 14 and he can't provide any further update.

Its really pathetic the was Esprit Toyota is handling customers. Also I suspect that they are playing games and giving deliveries to their preferred customers or people willing to pay premiums for the vehicle and the whole waitlist is nothing but a sham.

Would appreciate inputs from members in this forum and any suggestions on how I can escalate the issue to higher authorities in Toyota.

Thank you for all your help.

Did you try sending mail to Toyota. I'd booked my car on 25th November and still waiting. Every month 5th/6th dealer gets the allocation. This month also I was told to wait for next month as usual. Sent an e mail to Toyota on 13th July (just for the sake of it). They re-directed my mail to the dealer. Got a call from the dealer on the next day. Had initial negotiations. Now the dealer is asking me to clear the payments in 4 days else vehicle would be allocated to next booking! I've done part payment and waiting to see vehicle in person to clear rest of the payment.
(Now sometimes I feel, am I getting the new vehicle or some cancelled one !)

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

My brother checked the website and he told me that one can book all variants on the website except ZX and ZXO. I also checked it and saw the same. Then he checked with the dealer and was informed that we should not book the vehicle online as the dealers are not accepting any booking done online. Anyone has any idea what's this confusion about? If dealers are not supposed to accept online booking, why is the company taking online bookings?

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Thank you all for help and information provided on this thread. Yesterday we bring home Hycross ZX(O).

We are expecting that we will be able drive the car 1 lakh kms in 3 years. I would like to know if it is worth to buy smile package and extended warranty?

Thanks in advance.

If you book online, the despatches will be made from Toyota to the dealership with the car being allotted to you, so the dealers won't take any blame for how long it may take. Whereas in the case of booking from a dealership, the dealership places the order with Toyota and gets despatches monthly on the basis of that and can allocate the bookings accordingly, even in case of cancellations.

So, dealers prefer you book from them and won't encourage online bookings, this is the case with most in-demand cars.

I haven't reached out to Toyota yet. I'm glad that worked out for you. Could you please share the email address that you emailed them on so that I can reach out to them to raise my concerns as well.
Really appreciate the help. Thanks.
