FM Keroo is about the only one I know who has remapped and documented the remap extensively. Being a global engine, lots of potential I just say. The Jeep Compass uses pretty much the same engine. The remap results might also be better on a Abarth motor as that has beefed up internals.

The good thing about the reamp is you can immediately compare the difference. Wolf Moto lets you switch maps. I say this after driving my car and Keroo's Linea.

Almost every aspect of torque and power delivery curve is improved with a remap. The cost is a little prohibitive. If you do not plan on selling the car in the near term, it is totally worth doing it.

Totally worth it for me, and became even better after the other mods. You can read about it on this thread from page 202 onwards.

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

The SA at KHT FIAT said that FIAT had changed the spark plug type for the T-Jet and as if the old one wasn't expensive enough at ~1k per piece, the new one would cost 3k per piece . I read the same at some other place on the forum, but I found that the old plugs were still available at 99rpm and decided to keep an extra set in stock. I received the plugs and found that the packed date was sometime in the first week of this month.

Are the service centers trying to rip customers off by selling some different plugs? Are those plugs from 1.4 MultiAir of Jeep Compass?

PS Taking T-Jet for the service makes my wallet cry. The air filter costs almost as much as that of a Skoda 1.8 TSI.

Can you share a bill of your last service for reference?

Will surely post once I can locate it. What I posted was about how the T-Jet specific spares are significantly more expensive than the ones shared with FIRE and Multijet ones. Items like spark plug (FIRE), air filter, oil filter, brake components etc. Understandable though as most components seem to be imported.

The T-jet spark plugs are certainly more expensive than what goes in the NA engine, but 3K per plug is crazy!!! I managed to pick up a spare pack from Aadya for around INR700/each about a month ago.

NGK IKR9J8 plugs cost 11.39/plug in the UK, so the price quoted on 99rpm.com is correct. You can also try sourcing Denso (5337) IXU27 which are a direct replacement, and cheaper than the NGK's.

My Tjet had its service last weekend and I got the 60k service done where the spark plugs were replaced. Set of 4 costed me 3060.00

Tjet was serviced at Vroom Pointe Fiat in Navi Mumbai.

I am not sure why you were given a quote of 3k per plug.

I no longer own a Linea but did get Brembo's fixed on the car.

If they are OEM Brembo, don't expect them to be any better than stock. In fact, I found stock brake discs and pads very good compared to Brembo, which felt more like a down grade.

I got them fixed at Bosch, Hoodi.

What was your experience at Vroom Pointe Fiat?

Good experience, They might be slow at times but they get the job done and happy with the quality of work. Been giving my car since last one year and they attend to every complaint and I have not been billed at times for small issues like bulb replacement or air filter cleaning.

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

Which is a good tire for the T-Jet. Between these two.

1) Pirelli Cinturato P7.
2) Michelin ST3.

I am looking for good grip and comfort.

Not sure about Pirelli, but have been using ST3s for last 2.5 years and have done about 60k Kms. They're brilliant in terms of grip and comfort. Also to mention I got the first puncture at 54k Kms i.e. after driving on all sort of terrains.

Finding it difficult to source either Michelin or pirellis here, I have come across Yokohama A drive. R1. Guys, any idea how this works for grip and comfort?

I hear they don't last too long, but that is not a priority for me; my car runs very little, as is.

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

I had the Yoko A Drives on my OHC, they were so so. Coming in as a replacement to the XM1's they felt a little less grippy.

I would suggest you go for Apollo Alnac 4g's. I have them on the i20 as OE and they are good in both wet and dry. I was pleasantly surprised at the grip they offered and was wondering why they dont get as much praise as they actually deserve.
