Query: NICE Road - Bangalore

Spotted new "Leopard crossing" sign board on NICE road.
There were two incidents of Leopard's getting mowed down by speeding vehicles at this area.

There was a mention sometime back that the toll has changed. Looks like it has not.
I still paid Rs 125/- from NH4 to NH7. (The same amount as I had paid before).

125 on NICE,its getting to be a total ripoff,considering that one pays only INR180 on the GQ between Blore & Chennai!

Not anymore, toll rates have been doubled in almost all of the toll plazas from 07 June between Bangalore-Chennai. Ride to Chennai is becoming more expensive day-by-day. Worth exploring the NH-4 option for the next drive.

Bangalore Guyz - Any update on whether the flyover over the bannerghatta road is completed / started ? It is along time i have been to B'Lore so asking fellow BHPians. It would be a boon to folks coming from Hosur, who want to reach destinations bypassing bangalore.

The flyover is not complete.
But it does not matter. You will be easily guided to the next leg of NICE road.
There are enough sign boards.

Is it under any legal case? I have not seen any kind of construction to finish the flyover during the past one year.

No idea Arun. I think its just traction needed for completion.
But anyway, it still is not a big hindrance for by-pass.

Though the flyover would have been even better!

Last I had read in the newspapers was that people from the Gottigere village were opposed to the location of the flyover/bridge as it would block a water tank/water body.
Recently when I took the Bannerghatta Road exit of NICE road, I did notice some scaffolding kind of work and mistook that for the flyover construction work, it actually turned out to be the event management preparations for the Vodafone-Lewis Hamilton event

actually for trucks taking this route, if there is a flyover then they can avoid the toll in bannerghatta road and some long trucks find it very difficult to cross the half round turn which is immediately after the toll towards mysore road. Also, at times when the truck traffic is heavy they create a huge queue in the toll which also affects the bannerghatta road traffic especially during peak hours. Couple of times it took me around 15 minutes to cross this toll.

Hi Guys,

From the middle of this month i will be travelling on weekly basis between Mysore to Bangalore and back. Precisely to ITPL in Whitefield.

From Mysore Bangalore SH 17, i will be taking the NICE road till Electronics city. Beyond this i might not sure which is the best route to reach ITPL. Should i take the ORR or SH 35? Need your inputs on deciding the stretch.
BTW, i will be driving a 2005 Esteem.

I think the best is usage of the Chandapura-Domasandra stretch.
(Chandapura is the signal where one side is the Anekal road)

This is the fastest route I can think off.

NICE has quietly increased the toll rate. Tumkur road to Kannakpura Road is now Rs 86, earlier it was Rs 80.

Toll on NICE from Bannerghatta road to Hosur road is increased from 25 to 30 from Jan. I don't mind paying the additional amount (I am a daily commuter to Electronics City), but the huge pile up at the Bannerghatta exit in the evening is becoming a daily affair and can take more than 15mts to exit NICE
