Ok, in sequential order.

1. Car came in today early morning from Aurangabad.
2. They sent a Passat to pick us up from home (Bangalore, distance of 150 kms. Of course I have offered to pay for the fuel, they haven't taken it yet, will transfer it to them).
3. We reached by 11:30am. I did the PDI with the VW technicians and then approved the car.
4. Had some amazing lunch at Mysore that they arranged
5. Towards evening they got a big cake and we had a celebration
6. The car was washed and polished and kept ready and they wrapped it in a gift cloth
7. Again some celebrations around "unveiling" the car as a gift
8. They got a temp registration really fast (same day) so I could take the car out the same day (despite RTO being a half day and getting it was difficult)

All in all an excellent delivery experience

Sounds superlative. No wonder you were raving about them, they really pulled out all the stops to please you and then some! Glad you Jetta ownership is off to such a superb start, long may it stay that way!

Yes. Very much.

When ever I go there for service (with appointment - 2 days notice), if I have to leave the car at the service station, I am offered drop / pickup to any point in the city. Also, the car will be ready for pickup at the stipulated time and will be thoroughly clean.

This may look like a small gesture, but goes a long way in keeping relationships. It is easier for me to get my car serviced at Mysore, than at Bangalore.

Congrats, hard to believe some dealer in India can do this. WOW.

Well I am sure you must be on cloud no 9, with the buying experience and the beauty at hand. Wish you miles and miles of good times.

Yup, infact there are a few team-bhpians who have bought from VW Mysore. All of them had similar experiences.

Congratulations Abhilash on the new Jetta. Wishing you tens of thousands of miles of happiness. That is a great dealership experience you have had. Wish all dealers were like them! Do post some teaser pictures before the full review

Wow! Considering the usual stories about VW group service standards, thats a brilliant job done by VW Mysore. Goes a long way towards establishing a good long-term relationship with the customer.

Sending a Passat to fetch the customer, that too for a distance of 150 kms! No words.

Many Congrats Abhilash !! You will have equally beautiful experience with your beauty now
The VW mysore guys are really from another planet when compared to the "others" I have dealt with. May not be as polished or technocrats but they know how to touch you inside and make you feel worth the experience when I am plonking north of 20 on a car. Worthwhile to note as Chethan mentioned, they keep the relationship going even after the deal is done and dusted.

Re: D1 Sedan Quandary: VW Jetta, Skoda Octavia or Used Laura?

Guys,

One quick question. Today while I was driving, mistakenly I drove with Handbrake applied for 5-10 meters before I realised and stopped. No change in braking performance/hand brake effective or to the vehicle as such. I'm guessing it should be fine right?

Not an issue at all. Didn't the warning buzzer beep though?

Nope, no warning buzzer. Looked at the manual, it doesn't say about a buzzer either.

Wow what a sudden spike of Jetta's on the forum. I must say there are a quite a few Jetta's here. It's not a surprise considering it's probably the best you can buy in that segment.

That's quite odd. I would expect the Jetta to come with a buzzer or warning of some sort. Can other Jetta owners confirm nothing of this sort exists in the Jetta?
