Saw this Korean movie with English subtitles a couple of days back and still couldn't stop thinking about it. What a fantastic movie!

I'll advice to watch the extended version as I read somewhere that it has some marvelous shots which are missing in the trimmed version.
Strictly a 18+ movie.
Thanks for suggesting this movie. This was my first foreign language movie with only subtitles to understand the story. Its a great movie, great story line, amazing cinematography and a great ending.

Watched the triple frontier. Star cast, tight movie but drags a bit towards the end. Worth a watch.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

I had no plans of watching a movie this past weekend. But feeling bored checked bookmyshow and found 4 seats in the last row for a show.

With my son (almost 6) starting his new school the next day, I booked the tickets.

The movie starts off fine. It felt like some Hindi director was making the romance angle between the dragons.
The silence with occasional bursts of laughter from all the kids and there were a lot of them in that theater meant it was a nice movie.
My kids liked the movie. So I will recommend watching it with kids.

Don't go alone if you are a 40 something man. I slept off within 10 mins and started snoring. Luckily my family woke me up and somehow managed to keep me awake for the remainder of the movie.

Watched Shazam! yesterday. At 2.5hrs i felt it was 30mins too long.

Movie was fun in parts but overall would rate it as just pass.

Just about OK. I watched it after rave reviews from a colleague, but I was somewhat underwhelmed by the actual movie. Can watch it for time pass if you have not much else to do.

On another note, has anyone managed to get ticket for Avengers: Endgame? The rate at which tickets got sold out is just insane, all tickets are completely booked for this weekend. Expect the rush will continue for another week or two. Will have to wait till then to get a seat, probably on a weeknight late night show.

Shows in Bangalore for this movie start at 6 am (!!!), unprecedented and gives stiff competition to Rajnikanth movies

I just about managed to get tickets for Sunday - in the 5th row from front. And this is the small town of Manipal.

There are just 2 multiplexes here and see the number of shows in the first 3 days. (2D is not reflecting in this list)

If you have the time, please do download something else. A quiet place is much better than this.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Endgame ticket prices are really high.
IMAX is costing 1400 for 2 people. Housefull on weekend of course.
My regular PVR which usually has 200 per person is now 400 for Endgame. Housefull again.
Seems people have pounced on this movie like never before. Will see it on a weekday when desired seats are available. No hurry for me.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Not everyday that you see a top-ranked movie on Netflix. Knocked Up has excellent ratings on Rotten Tomatoes & IMDB, so I watched it. Damn, the first half of the movie will have you . Seth Rogen is just too cool, while Katherine Heigl is too cute.

Going to give it 4/5 stars. The first 70% is actually 5-star worthy, but the final 40 minutes or so is a bit of a drab (compared to the first half).

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Got late night tickets for Avengers on Saturday. Can't come soon enough

Watched Clint Eastwood in and as The Mule. Nice easy going movie with some subtle hard thoughts thrown in as a typical old man Clint style.

Crimes of Grindelwald was a decent watch as well. Though i felt that it had a bit too many little sub plots which were not required in my opinion.

1400 for 2 is damn cheap. In Pune, IMAX tickets are 900/950/1000 per ticket. Marvel is really cashing in on the huge popularity and also letting the theater owners milk the unsuspecting and nerdy customers.

I have rarely watched a movie, in a non-IMAX theater since we got our first IMAX in Pune. The overall experience at IMAX is 100 times better than most theaters in Pune now. Most first timers need to revamp their infrastructure to match the grandeur of IMAX at Cinepolis. From parking to lounge to washrooms to seats to sound quality to picture quality, every aspect is better at IMAX. But the downside is the exorbitant prices of the food items at food court.

Anyways, back on the topic.
