Completely agree. It is heartening to see Clint Eastwood performing at 90 years of age in this slow burner but the story is rather predictable and has limited range of emotions which is unlike Eastwood movies.

The trial of the chicago 7 - rate it 4/5
Quote:
The film is based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven defendants charged by the federal government with conspiracy and more, arising from the countercultural protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. The trial transfixed the nation and sparked a conversation about mayhem intended to undermine the U.S. government.

Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, screenplay and acting is top notch. Frank Langella as Judge Hoffmann is brilliant. A must watch if you like legal dramas with a hint of conspiracy.

I checked the Prime Video app right now and saw that it is not there. It must have been removed. Sometimes movies/series are removed after a period of time. Sorry!

What a wonderful movie you have suggested. Throughly enjoyed it and the best part of it is the last 2 minutes. Just Wow!

People watch it if you like courtroom dramas.

I hope both of you are referring to the PrimeVideo in India. I have observed that certain movies are available only in other countries, US, UK etc, and similar with the Netflix as well.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Few of the Hollywood movies released on Amazon Prime have only regional audio. No English. This is meaningless.

Eg: Gringo, Logan Lucky etc. Any reason ? Will this be a trend ?

Unhinged (2020)

The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)-unhinged_0.jpeg

The reviews were pretty bad but went ahead with it as it featured Russell Crowe. Boy, it was horrible. He did act pretty well and there were few good car chases but that was it. There were many loopholes and the movie could have really ended in 10 mins.

Rating - 1/5

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm

The first edition was pretty enjoyable but this was really bad. I stopped halfway. If the scenes in the first edition were extreme (vulgar), this was even worse.

Rating 1/5

Yes - I was referring to Prime Video in India. Collection of movies and series will differ from country to country as Amazon has to get their rights country-wise.

I did manage to finish, but my opinion is pretty similar to yours. I guess, the shock value of the character Borat is what gave the first movie its cult status. Naturally, a repeat dose lacks the same punch. However since you are already half way, the big reveal right at the end might be worth finishing the movie.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Love and Monsters : 3.5 / 5

In a time of numerous movies on science-fiction and alien monsters, you'd think we have explored every angle of it. But this movie pleasantly surprises you on that assumption - in fact (IMO) the only movie that has touched upon it is 'Men In Black', back in 1997.

A very well done movie that has some amazing cinematography and beautiful setups of a post-apocalyptical world - ideally this is a movie better watched on the larger screen. The main lead (known for his Maze Runner movie series) does quite a decent job, well supported by some relatively unknown faces as the supporting cast.

It's a movie I went with minimal expectations and was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the movie overall.

P.s This one's not for the ones who have fear of bugs

Where is this movie streaming? Google search shows Amazon Prime but I'am unable to find on Amazon Prime.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Saw 7500 on Prime last night.

7500 is a distress code sent out by airliners to let ATC know that they are being hijacked. So, the movie, a fairly short but fast paced, is about a hijacking and how the pilot responds to it.

A nice watch though it focusses on a very small aspect of a hijacking episode.

4/5
