Focus 4/5

Platform- Netflix

Loved the twist and turns. You expect something to happen and it happens just that you expected something else to happen.

Good easy weekend watch. Go for it.

I just caught up with it and quite honestly, liked it. My heart was pounding pretty badly all the time and I loved the way Russel Crowe acted in the movie as the enraged psycho guy who you do not want to piss off! The guy relentlessly pursues the victims in a fit of rage.
I watched it too and liked it. Heart was racing throughout the movie. I prefer these type of psychological thrillers compared to the ones that use sound effects to startle/scare you.

I too watched and liked it. One time watch. But more than Russel Crowe, I liked the wonderful performance from Caren Pistorius.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Unhinged looked way too impossible to happen in US. It will take Max 15 mins from the first road rage incident to clear highway, incapacitate the car through some means and then finally to arresting the person.

Some states have no pursuit rules but even then they can route the culprit to where they want and nab him. He can’t go on at a killing spree without planning. It is all possible with planning but not like how they showed in the movie.

The Prodigy (2019):
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4504044/

A decent thriller/horror flick with some jump in your seat moments and others that make your skin crawl.

Good acting by the mother and the son.

3.5/5

The Vigil (2019):
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10793644

Another decent horror movie which is dark and ominous. The main actor really acted well i thought which was good considering he's almost in every frame of the movie.

It's got a fair bit of foreign language in it as well so be sure to turn on subtitles.

3.5/5

I don't know what to call this, but internet says interactive movie, IMDB says TV Movie, but this is fantastic. Must watch for folks who love thrillers

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018)

Word of caution - For the impatience, please stay off or start it on a lazy Sunday morning, it doesn't get over in 1.5 hour, without your intervention

Good watch & is rateable 3.8/5, if understood

The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)-i-care-lot.jpg

Saw this yesterday and is definitely worth a watch. The visualization and overall presentation can be compared to movies like Baby Driver and Focus with similarity that this is also a con artist story movie. It is a full on entertainer without any boring moments & touches on a very relevant issue about guardian ship and elders in our society. Rosamund Pike and Peter Dinklage are badass in this movie along with Eiza Gonzalez & Dianne Wiest. I would give it somewhere between 3.5 and 4 out of 5 for it's entertainer value.

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Saw White Tiger on Netflix yesterday. Pretty ok movie for one watch, it’s different. The main character is Adarsh Gourav who has done a superb job. Priyanka Chopra has a small role and Rajkumar Rao redeemed himself quite well.

While this movie is fine for the discerning viewer who can appreciate it for the performances, it’s sets an extremely bad example of how crime pays. Bad news/example for the poor, underprivileged or impressionable minds to see.

Cheers

Watched "Coming 2 America" on prime. Movie seems to be finished in a rush. Story is mediocre and gets boring along the way.
Eddie Murphy and simmys acting is great. McDowell's has been retained. 😂 Overall a one time watchable movie. Thank you.

Your tolerance level is great. Is there any movie you won't be able to watch?

Re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Tenet is a really nice weekend watch. Slightly convoluted, but by the end, it becomes predictable. Predestination, anyone?
However, as far as Nolan goes, will this be something revisitable like inception, or Dark Knight 2,3? Probably not. I'll rank it alongside batman begins.
The best thing about this, surprisingly, is glitter boy himself. Now I can't wait to see him as batman!
3/5

Not on the OTT in India yet. Only available on Hulu which is not available in India.
I was so keen on watching it and managed to watch it from a friend's plex server. Surely not a right thing to do, but I was desperate after reading about it. Amazingly acted by Frances.
