Re: The Cricket Thread

What a Humiliation

Jaddu should be MoM.

And ya someone kick out this useless KL..

Next game-

Gill for KL.
Iyer for SKY.

Makes batting rock solid.

In the appropriate terminology they generally use :

KL sustains an injury which keeps him out and Iyer recovers from his injury and is fit to play.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Couldn't watch the first three days of the match due to office hours. Thought will catch Day4 action but couldn't get my hands on the remote because of the daily serials till 3 pm and I was overruled by family members. By the time I switch on star sports the match is done and dusted
I think it is better if they kick off the match on weekends rather than having Day4 and Day5 on weekends. Most of the time the matches wrap up by Day3 or the result is put to bed by Day3 and Day4 is just formality. How often the games are going to Day5 in India ?

Hope the Aussies won't play blame game with the pitch, Jaddu (for using the ointment when bowling), etc.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Wow, almost a deja-vu of sorts. India was folded for 36 in the first test while in Australia and now we returned the favour. What’s legendary is what followed post that, India went on to win the series.

Hope we don’t get complacent and continue the dominance. And I hope this massive win doesn’t overshadow the fact that Mr.KL is such a misfit currently. Gill should open in the next match.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Kohli should move out of slips, he has been dropping way too many catches.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Wonderful performance by India! After all the talk about the pitch by Australian media, their own team might have carried that into their minds while playing and created an unnecessary pressure.

Regarding KL Rahul, former fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad was very critical on him on twitter feed.

Quote:
I have a lot of regard for KL Rahul’s talent and ability, but sadly his performances have been well below par. A test average of 34 after 46 tests and more than 8 years in international cricket is ordinary. Can’t think of many who have been given so many chances. Especially..cont

And some of the replies there are hilarious, and belongs to our joke thread.

I'm happy that we beat Australia in the first test, but I'm absolutely elated that we thrashed them at mind games too.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Lovely win yesterday; the 18th over got the game for us. Our fielding was fairly poor though, quite a few dropped catches.

As Ian Chappell said, it is the Australian media with its pitch doctoring etc. rhetoric that really got to the Aussies. All that talk and hype about the pitch clearly made the pitch way more difficult that it actually was.

Re: The Cricket Thread

India vs Australia third test match moved out of Dharamshala, shifted to Indore.

Quote:
The third Test match between India and Australia which was originally scheduled to take place in Dharamsala from March 1 to 5 has been shifted to Indore.

The recently re-laid outfield at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala was deemed unfit for the Test match following an inspection from the BCCI inspection panel on February 11.

The third Test match will now be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

"Owing to harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully," BCCI said in a media release on Monday.
