You can be booked for it despite it being a fact that it does not obstruct the view either way. Please think carefully and decide whether you wish to be stopped every now and then about it.

I have already written to HTP but they are silent on the issue (not exactly for TBHP stickers but for PUC, residence and office stickers).

BTW, I was caught at Khairatabad today and it took quite a while (maybe 10-15 seconds) for the constable to realise that my car has manufacturer fitted tinted glasses and there is no film affixed on it.

I was stopped the other day near ameerpet and I had to explain the constable and the SI that my car came with manufacturer fitted tinted glass. He let me go after that.

I saw a van with tints being challaned at Khairatabad this morning. They were even video-taping the conversation.

I also saw a couple of other cars being stopped at Lakdikapul Jn near Rayalseema Ruchilu. Looks like they are getting more serious now. Per TOI today, the penalty will be minimum Rs 500 for cars costing below 50 lacs and Rs 1000 for those above that limit.

I was stopped today on Rd.45 and fined 500/-. The constable stopped my car, carefully observed it for about 10 seconds and then understood there was a very light sunfilm installed indeed . They removed the film from one of the glasses (completely) and let me go. I plan to remove the rest today evening.

Re: Hyderabad: Updates on traffic - diversions, road expansions, alternate routes, et

Almost every major junction has the cops abandoning traffic duties and concentrating on the sun film removal. Even sunfilm that is not dark is being removed as all vehicles need to observe the law.

It does not matter that the tail lights are non-functional. The headlights could be fitted with illegal bright bulbs. Fog lights on in the peak of summer.

Signals can be broken with impunity.
But sun film is a danger to mankind and must be removed.

Having said that as a cyclist it enables me to see thru the cars and better judge the road in front. This is the only redeeming aspect to this non-sense.

Re: Hyderabad: Updates on traffic - diversions, road expansions, alternate routes, et

I saw this Beat (I think) overturned on that sweeping right hand turn on the road leading towards Langer Houz->Kokapet-> Gachibowli Financial District.

That particular spot comes after crossing a small bridge and is a wide right hander and is cantonment area and calls for drivers to test their ability.

I have taken that lovely right hander at risky speeds (now I wont in future)

Guessing it took that right hander, lost control and hit the divider and overturned. I dont know if the people inside survived as I was myself in a terrible rush for a 9:30AM meeting. Infact, an ambulance was following me from Langer Houz bridge and realized it was coming to that spot meaning it had happened not more than 30 minutes ago

Pray that whoever was inside have made it !!!

Where did this happen? I came by the same route and did not see anything or rather I did not pay heed on the road.

Today morning about 9:15AM or so. I had to wait for a few minutes to pass through as traffic got halted there.

That's a terrible thing to have happened. Can you pin-point the exact location of that right hander? I was planning to take that route you take today to drop my wife at Waverock (never used that route so far), but took the shorter one as traffic was thin at 845 am.

It is high time caution boards were put up at such dangerous spots. Even the sharp left hander on the ORR between Gachibowli and Narsingi (straight goes to Patancheru) caught me off guard once, but the Fiesta took it well. The story would have been different on a tall boy like the Beat or WagonR.

Iam not good at pin-pointing locations with maps etc. When you cross the Langer Houz flyover, you keep going staright. Left takes you to vikarabad road

When you keep going straight, there is a small bridge that comes in about 2kms and immediately after the road widens and there is this sweeping right turn.

Really enticing turn I must confess and almost like Nascar track just that this one is a right hander and Nascar only has left handers

Ok, then that must be close to Taramati Baradari. Will keep a watch the next time I go on that road.

Initially I thought you were referring to the right turn after you cross over the ORR towards Kokapet. I've not ventured on that stretch so far.

The location Avinash is talking about comes after one crosses Bapu Ghat, then takes a left turn and then crosses the bridge over river Musi (Taramati Baradari is straight on), the one sees on the left side a military area like cantonment, then the road takes an automatic sweeping right curve of 90 degrees. This is the spot.

Edit : I am in error. Just reread and realised Avinash has mentioned continuing straight. The only bridge there is just after Taramati Baradari as Vnabhi correctly pin pointed. Did not realise the road has a sweeping right there.

This is after you cross Taramati-Baradari and before the Assam Regiment, with the TAGRA RAHO boards on the left. That turn has seen many accidents till date.

Re: Hyderabad: Updates on traffic - diversions, road expansions, alternate routes, et

We went to Shirdi on Nov 10th and returned last night. I wanted to provide an update on the best route to Patancheru.

We started at 630 am from Somajiguda and took the route via Cancer Hospital, Cyber Towers, Gachibowli, Lingampalli, BHEL Jn and Patancheru. It took us around 45 minutes to cover 36 kms till the ORR Jn beyond Patancheru.

On our return, as we were stressed out, we took the ORR at around 945 pm. It took us only 40 minutes to cover the 45 km journey via Gachibowli and Narne Road. It was well-worth the 20 rupees toll, and the extra distance is only 9 kms. Hence I strongly recommend this route to all of you to avoid traffic hassles at Lingampalli and Patancheru.

Re: Hyderabad: Updates on traffic - diversions, road expansions, alternate routes, et

Does anyone know if there is an entry ramp onto the ORR towards Gachibowli from the Financial District area? I did spot an exit ramp on the ORR the other day while driving from Muthangi to Gachibowli.

I am seeking this information because I want to take the fastest route to Ascendas IT Park from the TCS Waverock building near Ista Hotel.
