From the description for All Metal Sealant, it is
"designed to protect polished bare metals like aluminum"

You should obviously go for the paint protection!

Go with the AFPP if you are looking for a good sealant for your paint.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Gurus, need your advice. I went on a buying spree and have the following external care products with me right now:

1. Sonax Shampoo
2. Sonax Polish
3. Aeroshot Liquid Silicone Car Polish
4. Motomax Sealant
5. Com-Paint Clear Lacquer Spray
6. Collinite 845

Now, when do I fit in the clear lacquer spray? Before/After polishing? After Sealant? After Waxing?

Now, why do you need to spray clear lacquer? Unless there was a scratch which you repaired, and in the process damaged the clearcoat?

After thorough washing, wiping and waxing with 845, wipe off dust build up with a microfiber cloth, and that is it. There is no need to use the clear lacquer for routine maintenance IMHO.

There are a few deep scratches and rock chips with no clear coat protection on them. Thought I'll spray in the lacquer in those areas.

After washing, shall I use the polish -> sealant -> lacquer and then wax?

You need to touch up with the paint first and level the surface. Please see dadu's post here: it pretty much explains everything.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...t-tubes-2.html

But, my experience with compaint lacquer is that unless you polish it off with a very fine rubbing compound the original glaze is hard to achieve. But for stone chips and very small scratches it may not be noticeable from a distance. For waxing you might want to wait for a few days after applying lacquer.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Guys need your help in deciding
1.what kind of pads I need to use with Bosch GEX1251AE which has valcro to attach pads to it.Will these LC Kompressor pads work?
2.Can we buy just any backing plate and attach to this DA?
3.What kind of towels and how many I would need for full car care?I already have 3-pack Jopasu MF towels.I also have Abro sponge.
4.If I order from autogeek, what is their shipping charges? Just to check I added few items in cart and then tried checking out with international shipping but I was still not able to get the shipping charges.
5.My 4 months old Oceanic blue car has quite a few minor scratches and swirls and being a new car I'm confused whether to use aggressive polish or not.
6.And so far i have not bought any wax and polish.Which one would you recommend based on my need?
7.And can someone guide me the step by step procedure how to do it?
8.How good is a brush (seen here) for washing car that came with Bosch 100Euro plus pressure washes? Will it cause more scratches?
Closer pictures of hood and trunk res'ely.....

Why you are not using a dedicated polisher like DA or Rotary For work ???

2.Can we buy just any backing plate and attach to this DA?

Is It A DA ??? are you sure ???

3.What kind of towels and how many I would need for full car care?I already have 3-pack Jopasu MF towels.I also have Abro sponge.

Use Good Quality Mf Cloths only , you can order them from sanjay (BB Impex).

4.If I order from autogeek, what is their shipping charges? Just to check I added few items in cart and then tried checking out with international shipping but I was still not able to get the shipping charges.

It Will Be Expensive and customs are biggest Headache.

5.My 4 months old Oceanic blue car has quite a few minor scratches and swirls and being a new car I'm confused whether to use aggressive polish or not.

Use Least aggressive first , tell us what do you have or you want to order.

6.And so far i have not bought any wax and polish.Which one would you recommend based on my need?

Many Things are available , be more open on what do you want.

7.And can someone guide me the step by step procedure how to do it?

Get Some Products First , we all are here to help , just let us know your budget , things you are trying to achieve and approach.

8.How good is a brush (seen here) for washing car that came with Bosch 100Euro plus pressure washes? Will it cause more scratches?
Closer pictures of hood and trunk res'ely.....

That brush is not for car washing , use car wash mitt for washing , the brush will damage the paint.

My answers are in bold , please feel free to ask if you have any more questions....

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

@Notorious:-
1.I guess DA polisher is that which has random orbital motion and rotation. That should make it Dual action (DA) polisher which has eccentric motion.
Also it is indeed a DA polisher then can I get those LC Kompressor pads,I mean are these compatible with above polisher which has valcro type fastening pads.
3.I already have 3mf towel by Jopasu.Do I need more? Today evening I used one for drying purposes and it was quite impressive. Can i use other two for buffing etc.
4.I read somewhere that we can order under 10k without having to worry about custom duty,is it so? I have never ordered anything from foreign websites on Indian address except dealextreme which was hassle free.
5/6.Which least aggressive polish would you recommend? how about Meg ultimate polish.
But when it comes to wax, I want to use pure wax either collinite 915 or Meg 26 high tech yello wax.which is better?
7.I already have bought quite a lot and just left with wax and polish and budget is not a big problem.
