Managed to source some quality pads at JC road from manu automobiles. They cost me 3500 for both front and rear. Also sourced the exedy clutch from there as well. Total bill was 8.9k for bearing+ clutch+ pads.

Re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

Hi All, i am facing a small issue i don't know how major it is and hence need your suggestion, sometimes when i start the ignition of my Honda Civic 2007 AT, while in 'P' mode, the car doesn't start while it displays everything on the dash. However when i change it to 'N', and then start the ignition again, it starts. I would seek your inputs on this.

ATs usually can be started in tart in N and P. But some ATs need the the brake pedal to be pressed to start the engine.
Are you sure you are not forgetting to press the brake pedal?
Its easy to forget this if you are not used to it.

P.S
My bad. Ignore. I thought this was a Honda Jazz thread and you are a new to ATs.

Re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

I am not sure if this question has been asked before, whats the best place to get my Honda Civic Serviced in Gurgaon, i have heard that Heera Motors is the best for Service and body repairs. Need a few things to be changed/repaired

1. Body Denting and Painting
2. Suspension (Preferably Koni or something else)
3. Disc Brakes Better ones from Stock
4. AC repair
5. Service

Re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

I have used Pearl exclusively over the last couple of years, but now I am beginning to realize they are more interested in building up your bill, sometimes ignoring the small things i ask them to do, and focusing on big ticket items. And as you are not planning on Honda parts anyway, I would suggest go the FNG route. Sorry don't know any good mechanics in Gurgaon, maybe Delhi would have better choices.

2. I checked extensively. Konis are all reporting leak issues. Only good ones are Teins, but that will set you back by 2lakhs if inclined, since they don't keep stock these days for Civic. Stay with stocks, they aint that bad unless you're into some fun drives t

3. Pads you can source brembos.

The only difference in pre-2009 cars is that it did not have USB port but came with 6 CD changer. Post 2009 Honda changed it to a single CD player with USB port. No changes in compatibility to file formats.

@vasoo; what about the revised rear suspension which reduced the bottoming problem quite a bit. To me that was more important.

I had a blown 15A fuse, Pearl charged me ₹151 (20A), while Pushp Honda gave me the proper 15A fuse for all of ₹21. So take your pick!

I've been using the Roulands brake pads for about 15000kms now front and rear. They are good but the brake dust for the first 3000kms was bad! Apart from the brake dust I have no complaints about them. They were available at most major parts stores in Chennai.

My point was with respect to the audio system. I know that there are some other changes including a thicker front chrome lip, octagonal rear lights etc in addition to the claimed suspension improvement.

Re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

Does anyone know of a good place in delhi where I can get some decent art leather seat covers stitched for my Civic?

The fabric ones I had has lost its shine in the last 8.5 years. I've seen that a refurbished interior can make the car look spanking new.

Also, the side armrest console etc, any idea where I can source the same?

@vasoo; again talking of non-vital changes. How does the chrome or octagonal rear lamp change the performance / road behaviour! The audio may cheer up the driver but not the car!!
