Short distance drive will affect the FE
Frequent cold start also one of the other reason for low FE.

Also high speed driving will reduce the FE
I experienced it. First case- I drove about 500kms (85% highway and 15% city with 80% A/c), maintaining a speed not exceeding 100kmph(mostly between 80-90kmph) and I got 15 to 15.5 kmpl. Next occassion I drove 1500kms and I was pushing upto 130/140kmph and the FE reduced to 13/13.2kmpl.?

am not sure whether i am driving it properly, esp on the RPM. i keep the RPMs between 2K-3K. is this appropriate or should it be lower. a friend in office told me that it should be between 1K - 2K

your thoughts friends?

thanks
Ashish
Hi Ashish the low mileage is due to short trips even I face this problem just go for a long drive the mileage will come back to 9-10kmpl with 100% ac in Mumbai traffic and you will get this mileage till the E.C.U adjusts again to short trips.

Thanks ppl,

i think the short distance trip from home to office + B-to-B traffic is the culprit. i dont get to speed the car beyond 20-30 kms - i was sure this would hamper my FE, but didnt expect it to go down to 8kmpl

luckily, i did a mum-pune-mum trip yesterday. got a full tank before i left and reset the trip meter to zero. have done 350 odd kms. will check the FE once the tank comes close to empty. hope i get something above 12

checked the tyre pressure yesterday (on the express way). it was actually around 36 / 37 in all tryes. brought it down to 32. there were 4 ppl (including me) + some baggages, hence kept it a bit high. should i stick to 30?

i was supposed to visit the service center (Bhanva Ford - Nerul) on my way back from Pune today morning. i was getting late for a meeting, hence cancelled it. looks like it was for good. will postpone my visit to the service center for some time.

thanks again.

Yes the 2010 ones are Euro IV. I checked up with my salesguy and he confirmed the same on my car as well.

Those of use having the older one's might take solace in the fact that becos of engine tuning etc, the josh in the newer engines might somewhat fizzle out;-}

Yes, We are all happy with our present Fiesta's.
However if one want to know the difference, if any, in engine performance, then only way is to do TD of the Euro iv norm Fiesta?
