I generally follow this for iPhone transfers & it works seamlessly. Moreover, you don’t need to purchase the higher tiers of iCloud for this. Apple gives you an option of free unlimited iCloud storage for the transfer.

For what it's worth: when the new iPhone is dispatched, Apple allows unlimited space on iCloud for back up of the old phone. You'll see the prompt come up when you open Settings on iPhone. This could be an option as well.
Thanks.
I am aware of the iCloud method. It is efficient and I do have the 200gb plan for iCloud so backup isn't an issue. I was just mentioning the ease of transferring data from iphone to iphone.

Checked the trade in value for my iPhone 13 On Apple site. I was at Apple store last week so checked it there as well. Website is giving the price much lower than what store offered for trade in. The only issue is store price for new iphone will be more than what I can get in coming sale even after trade in value. Will keep the thread updated how it goes.

Re: The iPhone Thread

When I try to transfer photos from 'iPhone 11' to a 'windows 11' laptop using 'Photos' app, always get an error message, asking me to provide permissions on the phone, when the same has been provided.
Tried few things suggested by google(repaired the apple device driver on laptop, on the device > settings > photos > originals), still the same results.

What am I missing here? Please advise.

Transfer of pics from iPhone to windows PC is the simplest actually. Just connect your iPhone - Open the Apple iPhone drive from My Computer & you will be able to see your photos categorized into different folders - Just copy & paste.

Sorry, but I’m not sure why your are using the Photos’ app on the windows PC.

Sometimes I used to get the same issue. But usually keeping the phone unlocked while connecting solves the issue. Or try restarting either phone or laptop and see the issue still persists.

Here’s a video explains some steps you can try

Windows built in Photos app is the easiest since it keeps an index and allows to import only the newer files since last transfer. Also it allows to automatically delete the contents from phone after transfer if we selected that particular option.

Ohh okay, I didn’t know that there’s a ‘Photo app’ for Windows too(to transfer pics from iPhone) ; as this is exactly how the in-built ‘Photos app’ in thr Mac works for the iPhone to Mac transfer.

Warning: BMW Wireless Charging May Break iPhone 15's Apple Pay Chip

If you have an iPhone 15 and drive a BMW, it might be best to avoid charging the device with the vehicle's wireless charging pad for now.

Over the past week, some BMW owners have complained that their iPhone 15's NFC chip no longer works after charging the device with their vehicle's wireless charging pad. Affected customers say the iPhone goes into a data recovery mode with a white screen, and the NFC chip is no longer functional after the device reboots.

Affected users receive a "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay" error message in the Wallet app, and there does not appear to be a way to fix the problem. Some customers say Apple replaced their iPhone after confirming the NFC chip failed, but the replacement iPhone is then vulnerable to the same issue, so there is currently no permanent solution.

Small tip - ios 17.x —> settings - accessibility - touch - Haptic Touch - fast makes the iPhone “feel” snappier.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Good afternoon. I own an iPhone 7 and managed to crack the front glass.
Can you share a good repair shop in Mumbai near Chembur or BKC?

Thanks in advance.

I don’t know of a store in that area but I had replaced my iPhone 7+ Screen from Unicorn Apple Store, Andheri in 2019. The cost was a bit high ₹14500/- but it was repaired on the same day and given back in around 6hrs. It is still working well.

I tried the steps from this video and also from few other tips/tricks from the internet, BUT the photos app on windows doesn't recognise the iPhone device. I wouldn't know, how to resolve this issue.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Any recommendations on Power bank for IPhone 12? Presently phone is at 82% battery health, but drains very quickly on 4G .

I don't have battery pack and looking for either normal or Magsafe one.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Had upgraded my 12 Mini to iOS 17 and the subsequent updates but have seen a marked reduction in battery life. I used to charge my phone alternate days and still it would be holding about 25-30% charge but now I am down to 40% in 24 hours.

After a week plus of updating to iOS 17, I can confirm the reports of ‘battery drain’ to be true. My 12 Pro now requires charging twice (sometimes thrice) in a day with normal usage. That too this being on 100% Wi-fi and not 4G or 5G. There are numerous reports that the new update is significantly draining the battery of older iPhones.

Aside from this, there are other software glitches experienced too which weren’t there with the iOS 16. I’m favcing network issues to as I’m not receiving calls nor am I able to call at times. Typing experience isn’t very smooth either as I’m seeing an increase in the typos and a lot of my saved words have been deleted/ missing. There is no appreciable difference as such w.r.t iOS 16 ; on the contrary the battery drain is a bit hit!

Net net, iOS 17 is a mixed bag if you ask me and I would suggest to hold on if your are on a stable iOS 16 before upgrading until Apple releases some stable version.

If you’re on iOS 17, than possibly this is the rootcause of higher drain rate.
My 12 Pro is on 84% and there’s a marked difference in battery drain post iOS 17 update vis-a-via iOS 16.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I'm facing a very peculiar issue after upgrading to iOS17.0.2. on 13Pro.

Recently, I have noticed that my Bluetooth disconnects and music stops playing after I finish a call on the Pods or in the Car. Earlier while I was on iOS16, after the call the music would continue to automatically starts playing (on pods and in the car) without any manual interventions. Now, I have to unlock my phone, go back to my music app and play it again, which takes away my eyes momentarily from the road and kind of creates a hazard while driving.

Anyone Noticing this issue/Any troubleshooting I can do ? or I'm alone in this boat.
