I bought my Iphone 6 last October and am not disappointed. While the specs are not great when compared to the Android variants, that boast of 10 and 20 MP cameras, this one does the job and does it well. The cameras are good, though low light snaps are nothing to write home about. Snaps taken during the day come out really well.
There has not been any software relate glitch in the past 6-7 months and this is where Apple excels.
If you can stretch your budget, go in for the 6S as that has better specs. However, the 6 is not bad at all.

I believe there is no application that can record a call on iPhone. If recently such apps have come up, I would like to be corrected.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Yep, iphone has NO recording software. Some workarounds exists, but they are varying degrees of headache. No simple solution like that of android. One more chain by all knowing Apple.

Re: The iPhone Thread

All,

Which screen protector are you using for your iPhone X?

I got whatever the store guy had to offer while getting the iPhone X and it is a fingerprint magnet!

Thanks,
Enigmatic

Awesome! Glad to know that worked. I have gotten other people to try the same too while at Applecare, and almost always has worked.

All's well that ends well.

Apple may stop iOS upgrades for the 6 & the SE with iOS 12. Hence I'd suggest to upgrade to 7 at min. or go to your shortlisted X4 if you wanted a budget-friendly phone.

Cheers,
Vijay

5s will be dropped from the ios12 update list. 6 and onwards, all of them will get it. SE has the innards of the 6s except force touch + front cam, so it will get updates even after the 6 is dropped.
That being said, buying a 6 today, isn't a good option as you said. 7 or atleast a 6s will suffice the buyer for a minimum of 3 years.

Cheers,

SE would continue to get updates till 6s is getting owing to the same internal hardware. Iphone 5s got ios 11 which means the SE/6s has at least 2 years.

SE will continue to get updates as long as 6S.

It really surprises me as to why the SE is undervalued so much in India. In rest of the world, 6 is no longer available and in India 6 is priced 4-5k over SE. In Europe, almost one in every 4 iPhones is an SE. It is what a phone should be, small, compact, powerful and does all basic stuff without breaking a sweat - all with no worries of it slowing down in the near future.

SE is clearly a much better phone as compared to 6. It has better hardware and is better placed in the product Life Cycle. It is almost at par with 6S (if only it got 3D touch and 2nd gen Touch ID). In terms of battery performance, SE is better than even the 7 (my power user wife's iPhone SE lasts longer than my iPhone 7 on a single full charge). Sub 20k in India, SE is really the best smartphone available (the screen being the only drawback).

I hear rumours of the SE 2 launching in the near future with the A10 chip. Still the original SE might make more sense at the current prices.
