Does Asus ROG 3 support India's 5G bands

I am looking for validation. I am of the belief that Asus ROG 3 does not support India's 5G bands. I bought this phone in India from Flipkart.

Jio says 5G is available on bands n28, n78 & n258.
Asus ROG 3 - N78 matches but not the rest. Is 1 of 3 good enough ? Note - I have used 5G on Asus ROG 3 in the UAE in Nov'21 via Etisalat and they run 5G on n41 & n78

Has anybody on 5G tried wifi hotspot? What are typical speeds on a connected device like laptop?

SOLVED. Thanks to this. 5G is a broadband killer.

In a 4G/VOLTE phone, if I insert a new sim card, can the phone detect the phone number? I always wondered why I need to tell the phone device it's own phone number.

Seriously? With such high latency and terrible upload speed?

I remember getting stable two digits speed when 3G was first launched, now even 4G+ can't match that. Such initial day hyped speeds do not last longer when the access to the network is opened publicly.

Reliable mobile internet is still non-existent in India.

I always wondered this too. I hope fellow members can tell us!

Don't think 5G is available at my home, even if it has come to this city. I am not fussed about getting it and don't feel any need at all --- but if and when I buy a new phone will make sure that it can do it.

That performance posted looks heavily weighted towards download. The upload and latency is, indeed, dismal.

I think Jio sim is detected but not VI. Whenever I insert Jio sim in any new device, the sim settings show the number. Same is not true for VI sim.

I've heard of Jio doing that. Jio is VOLTE, right? Not possible with 4G I guess?

Well at my place 5G is worse than 4G and some days even worse than 3G. Now I have manually changed the settings to 4G only.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

I have 200Mbps Airtel Fiber and started noticing Jio 5G coverage on my phone 2 days back.

Soon after I received the messages and notifications that Jio True 5G is active on my phone.

Ran a speedtest and got this result.

That's good enough for practically anything. Yes, the latency is not at Fiber levels but this is good enough for most folks.

If you do have fiber feasibility in your area, great! If not, this is an excellent alternative.

P.S.: The speedtest ran through roughly 1.9GB data just to complete the test.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Guys, need help related to a peculiar problem I am facing with respect to sms OTP from some apps, as well as with some other sms.

I was trying to register for HP Pay the app of Hindustan Petroleum. But I never received the OTP even with multiple attempts. I changed the sim into a new handset but still same result. I thought it could be due to DND registry so I removed my name from DND too. But still no result. I receive OTP from other providers.

Similarly, I never receive sms from my kids school. They verified my number which is same but I never receive the school updates.

Currently my network provider is Jio, but earlier I faced similar issues with Airtel too.

What could be the issue?

I face the same issue with Vodafone. I thought it was limited to Vodafone only.
Device: OnePlus 6T.

Check if the messaging app has a spam folder.

If you enable vibration for SMS alerts, the phone ougt to vibrate as soon as the message is received, even if the SMS is moved to spam.

I use Microsoft SMS Organizer. Although it has nice way of organizing messages, it doesn't have spam folder. I have checked the blocked senders if I had unintentionally blocked any senders but it is all good.

In that case I'd rather advice you to use Google Messages app as it provides a nice and clean way to organize the messages as well. It is possible that there might be some bug in Microsoft SMS App which may be causing trouble in recieving messages.
