While what you are saying may have held good a year ago, but with the advances in software management, we have seen companies beat the conventional norms.

If what Engadget says holds good than thankfully my money is not down the drain. Anyways I will be receiving it tomorrow for actual analysis. Though I was more interested how it holds against the Huawei hardware and software.

It will anyways be far fetched to now hope from OnePlus for any world beater tech in their wares. Those days are well over.

Cheers...

Would love your impressions of the OP6. If possible, please provide some comparisons with the Honor10 (is it any better or different than Honor View 10?) and the Note8.

Meanwhile I've been munching on the other reviews available today. Its a mixed bag really. Arstechnica are not impressed with OP6 at all. While AndroidCentral have huge positive things to say about it. AndroidAuthority is meh while Mashable are purring over it. Does it point to Quality Control issues at Oneplus?

Also found a video about the camera test and it looks promising.

Picked up the Pixel 2, which at 25K (post discount, cashback and exchange) is a steal. Main reasons for picking the pixel 2 - great camera, good front facing speakers and stock android + guaranteed updates for the next couple of years.

My bad, I did not read the print fully. The charger block supports three voltages: 5V@2.5A, 9V@2A and 12V@1.5A.

Nexus 3A charger on Nokia might cause long term battery damage.
But isn't it the voltage that makes the difference? I used a 5V charger on a device that supports both 5V and 9V. And if my understanding is correct, both these voltages uses different strands in the USB cable, so a 9V charger should not fry a 5V phone as the 9V would not be used.

Or did I get my basics wrong?

Received the OnePlus 6. Initial impressions are positive. Camera seems nearly at par with Note 8 but it is still too early to give a thorough analysis. Got a update to add super slow motion, notch and some other features immediately after startup.

Thanks a lot dkaile!

Absolutely love your attention to detail and explanation. If the 1+6 camera is nearly at par with the Note 8, that's saying a lot. I use the Note 8 and am in love with the phone. The screen on the Note 8 is brilliant.

After a bit of usage, please update on the user experience, fluidity, screen/colour quality (indoor and in sunlight) and the camera/video quality.

Cheers

I too got the op6 today. Setting up was easy thanks to google backup. My short review based on 2 hours usage. I got the mirror black 8gb/128gb variant .

Positives:
1. It's blazing fast!! Right from unlocking to opening apps to opening camera, its mind blowing fast!!
2. Good camera - daylight shots are good.

Negative:

1. Placement of finger print sensor. I touch the camera many times instead of the finger print. So I have setup face lock which is too good and fast.

Some snaps
First 3 photos are shot with HDR mode. Rest are auto mode.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Was not really keen on buying the OP6 but surprisingly my wife's OP3 had an exchange price of 8k+!!! Heck LG G6 is only at 3k odd. Weird.

So found a friend with SBI card to buy one for me to get the 2k cashback, but after exchange the net amount came to 26k odd and cashback is only for 28k+!!! Bummer.

Well hope my wife like's her anniversary gift

Re: OnePlus 6 Launch Day purchase experience at DLF Place, Saket

I had to give away my Oneplus 3T because of compatibility issues with Android Auto. Decided to buy phones with vanilla Android. If someone uses the Oneplus 6 with AA - please let me know if it works.

Ordered Honor 10 on 16th May and still no signs of shipping updates from Flipkart. Status shows "Expected delivery date as 24-May" though!

I'm wondering as to what's happening with the order.

That moment of truth arrived sooner than expected when I had to record a meeting and I reached for the phone. No voice recorder!

Just a few days before I had gone out with my friend looking for a house to rent, and while we were there, the friend wanted to know where east was and the owner didn't know. I pulled out the Honor from my pocket, typed compass, and there it was.

Well, finally I installed a voice recorder from play store in a few seconds(Thank you Ambani), and got going, although annoying ads kept popping up.

This is the one I use. Costs about Rs.100 for the ad-free version.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

This is my first post in this section, but I seriously need some help in buying a phone.
I am an IOS guy and using IPhone since 2010 and currently have IPhone 7, now I am planning to change it. considering the amount I am going to spend to get IPhone X this time I am feeling to switch to Android.
Now number of options are just killing me. I am looking for phone with great display, Camera, Battery life, performance and all of above are in order of requirement .
I am really bending toward OP 6 but phone like Huawei 10, pixel 2 are also really good. I have fixed my budget at 45K, so friends please suggest.

Not sure if its the compression or what, but the pics don't look all that great.

Pixel2 is what would suit your needs. If you want bigger screen then OP6 should be the best in this price.

If you can strech to 65k then P20 pro is the best out there. Great screen, 2 day battery, top rated camera. The complete package.
