These are really not year end offers, they've been out there for months now. In fact, with a bit of hard bargaining, one can squeeze out a lac or two more for the 320i & d Highline.

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

Got the following quote today for Figo Petrol Titanium (New), in Bangalore:

Ex-showroom: 4.89L
Road-Tax: 70K
Insurance: Free
3rd year extended warranty + Essential Pack: Free (kind of corporate discount)
Bajaj Allianz Drive Assure Insurance: 4.6K, Incidental Expenses: 6K
Total OTR: 5.7L

Along with this, will get some 10K worth of accessories free, need to check what makes sense. There was some poster on 8% interest rate (for petrol only), need to ask on this.

How does this deal sound ?

^^ Terrific value for a fully loaded petrol hatchback. Obviously Figo Petrol is not much in demand (thanks to the popularity of diesel) and this leads to such a good offer.

You try selling Petrol titanium afer a couple of years and you will take a hit of at-least a couple of lakhs. Figo petrol as reported by several forum members struggles to give a fuel efficiency of 10-11 within city limits .keeping all this in mind , with that amount of money a Ritz petrol would make a lot of sense with much better performance, resale ,fuel efficiency after sales service and piece of mind .

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

I visited one of the Fiat Dealer in Chennai yesterday along with my friend. Following offers are available from them.

2011 Linea T-Jet+ - 9.2 OTR
2010 Linea T-Jet - 7.75 OTR (1 Vehicle is available)

And also heard that Fiat may not be offering discounts from 2012.

Agree on resale - unless govt steps in and changes the lopsided petrol/diesel equation. However, i am hoping to keep for 5-7 years atleast, so resale value is not a concern for me.

Ritz is an excellent car, we considered that and TD it twice, but it's clutch position is a problem for some people and we are part of that group.

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

As per Bimal Auto Agency (Maruti Dealer) in Bangalore, with effect from 14th of November 2011, all Maruti dealers of Karnataka have signed a pact that there is not going to be any competition amongst them. Which means, if any dealer in Karnataka offers any discounts other than the ones declared by Maruti for that month to any customer, or any freebies other than the basic ones (read floor mats, boot mat, mudflaps, perfume and idol), he will be penalised a sum of 2 lakh rupees.

Can anyone from Bangalore confirm this? If true, this is some bad news, no room for haggling at all.

I got this info from them while trying to book a car, they didn't offer anything extra at all, didn't budge even after multiple attempts to haggle. So I ended up doing a stop payment on my booking amount cheque. Will explore other alternatives in detail now before going ahead with the booking.

Can't believe they are doing this at a time like this - the year end - when they are supposed to give all kinds of discounts!

Is this legal ? Although, I doubt anyone will take them to CCI for this.

These discounts on the BMW 3-Series could be attributed to the arrival of the new 3-Series in the International market. BMW is probably looking to clear stocks and make way for the new 3. I believe that BMW will unveil the new 3 to the Indian market at the up-coming Auto Expo in Delhi.

So in short, this is the best time to buy BMW's entry level sedan. So what if it will be a generation old? Honestly, I would rather buy and drive the E46 3-Series, than the E90.. or the new F30 3er.

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

Folks,

Anyone aware of Vento( petrol) OTR in Bangalore? I'm zeroing on following(Offer details mentioned)
1)Linea - Tjet has 1.3lac discount, someone already mentioned. Emotion fire has around 90k discount.
2)Vento - looking for price info
3) Fluidic - barely any offers for this, barring 15-20k exchange bonus

Test drove Manza( Offer of free insurance+ 40 exchange bonus + 8k corp discount) but did the mistake of sitting Tjet after the test drive and felt Manza was crap.
