re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Honda Jazz 2014 now displayed on Honda Japan website
http://www.honda.co.jp/Fit/new/

I hope they launch top variant in India with Digital speedometer and Touch controls.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Any ideas when this will come India side. Looks pretty good, my only concern is can Honda cope with the volumes and if expansion of plant is the key won't it take long to bring the Jazz here.

Expected launch is between Jan-Mar 2014. I think by that time their Rajasthan plant will be ready for production. Going forward Honda will use Noida plant to manufacture Brio, Amaze and Brio based MPV while Rajasthan plant will be used to produce Jazz, City and Jazz based MPV.

My understanding is that it's the other way round. Initially, cars on the Brio platform will be made in Rajasthan and Noida will make the lower-volume sellers like the City, Jazz, CR-V and Accord. Eventually, Rajasthan will become the major plant because that's where the company has the land to expand and larger cars could start to be made there as well.

Also, I think you meant the Jazz-based SUV, not MPV.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

much as i love this car and the earlier version (in fact i was one of the first owners in chennai), i guess it is inevitable that this car is doomed from the outset. undeniably, this will command a price (what with extra leg room, boot space etc), while the indian public still has to grow out of the mentality of dzire being a 'badi gadi' and all hatchbacks being grouped together.
if honda decides to match the i20 in the gizmo race, this will definitely be priced higher, if it doesn't, 'the aam junta' will deride it in comparison, no matter what the ride/ handling/ build quality.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

I have a strong gut feeling this will be marketed widely by Honda and they will pitch this with the City. They never get all things right, but this time they have to break the ice. So far so good. More than the new City or the Urban SUV, this baby needs more thinktank. This Jazz deserves a better class of marketing, and Honda better give it to her.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

If things go as per plan, this should replace my aging 2001 Zen VX Deluxe! Does anyone know what are those white patches (in the post by damager21) on the doors meant to do? They look odd if they are meant to protect against bumps/scuffs during transport as they are not at the widest part of the body!

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

I hope they don't go with the same 1.2 ltr engine for this iteration. City's 1.5 ltr unit would be great, though I doubt the car would remain price-competitive then.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

IMO, the new one looks a step backward from the earlier one as far as exteriors are concerned. The interiors look fabulous in the pictures, yes. But from the outside it looks like a quadrilateral balloon!

And is it just me or have they really messed up the rear wheel arches? They look oversized, especially on the white ones! And the pictures of the black ones in the company yard make it look like there is no rear bumper! Was really looking forward to purchasing this when launched and I still am, just hoping that it changes my mind when I see it in reality! :(

So no digital speedometer then? Car looks plush...right pricing and it could be off to a great start.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

The side profile seems inspired from i20 and rear design seems awkward. The current gen Jazz seems more classier to me!
May be I am biased as a owner of current gen Jazz.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

This truly is turning out to be Honda's weapon of choice globally in the battle of the hybrids. The good part is they are making its bestseller equipped with it, which raises the stakes even further!

The older Jazz was the best looker in its segment and this one too carries forward the legacy with elan!

For all of you who were missing the dials on the dash, here they are. Look closely.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

What a disappointment! I take back my previous words. The prev.gen Jazz was still a better looker than this which looks like the Vista & the i20 had an ugly baby. Even the dash with the quirky design looks like a patch work done by some back-alley mechanics rather than world-class engineers from Honda. Looks wise, this thing is gonna fail at first impressions, I hope the rest of the car can make up for its aesthetic disaster.
