KP, nice set of seat covers mate, goes perfectly with your interiors and also your FE figures are good too.

Excellent job on the seat covers - they enhance the interiors of the car.

And I have to mention the commendable job with the 3 graphs showcasing the price/km, FE and kms between fills. I thought I was passionate about my car - but to keep all records of when, where and how much fuel goes in from day 1 - Dude - hats off!

Hi Guys!
Work and travel had kept me away from updating this thread for some time now. Some of you still were kept posted through fone.

Update : 1
Bad experience - 4th service (paid) @ HMP New Delhi

Now, its almost 45 days and 4200kms since i got it serviced.

My mistake - To send the driver with a To-Do list for the SA.

To-do list:
1. Do not touch the wheels. No rotation/ balancing/ alignment required.
2. Engine oil
3. Oil filter
4. Air Filter - Do not change its clean since last 20k kms
5. Fuel filer
6. Transaxle oil
7. Fuel tank air filter
8. Good wash. Don't apply the plastic polish all over the car like the last service.

Problem:
1. Brake juddering @ 150kph +. Please don't try to check it, just solve the issue.

The SA reads all of this and calls me up.

SA: Good morning Sir !
KP: Good morning.

SA: Your list is quite precise but i have a few things to clarify.
KP: Yeah shoot.

SA: The transaxle oil and fuel tank air filter change is not required now.
KP : Then, why is it mentioned in the owners manual ??

SA: Is it ? Sir, the transaxle oil is a synthetic one so it only needs replacement at 80k mark.
KP: Woohh!! 80k, Will the engine last that long ? hehe Anyways, whats about the fuel tank air filter ?

SA: Sir, pardon me, but what is that? Checked out with my stores incharge and still haven't been able to figure out what exactly it is.
KP: What the @#$%^ was my reaction but i still asked him calmly to check out for some part like the cannister and call me later.

3PM:
SA: Sir, your car is ready.
KP: What about the fuel tank air filter ?

SA: Sir, We couldn't find any such part. I even checked out the Vernas service history and none of vernas even with over a lac kms have had such a part replacement. Its not even there in the exploded part diagram.
KP: Huh. How's that possible? Why is it mentioned in the owners manual.?
SA: No answer.

Next day morning, i take it to office and don't find any significant improvement in its movement. I assume it to be the petes and filter which were not installed after the service.
Somehow i had this gut feeling that something's is not right. Then, after couple of days, i was on expressway doing 160kph and i press the accelerator to overtake some car and it doesn't beyond 160. Immediately i check out the engine light etc and all seem to be fine and the speed keeps decreasing with time. Now, the speedo is at 120 and i try flooring it and again the same thing happens, it doesn't
go beyond 120kph.

I stop the car, shut the engine and check for any kind of fluid leakage under the bonnet and find nothing.

After 10mins, i start the car and drive. No turbo kick @ 1500 + rpm and the engine feels very rough. I'm worried and all
thats coming to my mind is a bust turbo.
Few calls to some CRDi gurus here and its assumed to be a fuelling issue. Immediately i check up the 4th service bill and i
find that the fuel filter hasn't been replaced for some unknown reason.

I Call up the SA and bash him left right and center even though it was partly mistake of not checking the bill after servicing.

Post lunch, i reach HMP and ask them to plonk the scanner to check for error codes as suggested by rippergeo and tadu.

Result : No ERROR codes. So, its back to ground zero with no clue.

None of the technicians out there had a clue about any of the readings shown on scanner, all they care about is the error code
which pops up in a new window on screen.

As nothing conclusive came up, i asked them to change the fuel filter on the spot. The SA did a good job in getting that done
on priority. Changing the fuel filter in Getz CRDi is a real tough job as its mounted right behind the dashboard which takes
around an hour.
I take it for a TD and voila the car seems to be much smoother and the turbo kick is back. Yay!! I'm back to ripping mode.

Lesson learnt: CRDIs are brilliant but sensitive if u fiddle around with its fuel system & as a tbhpian do not send the driver to get your car serviced.

You mean to say that the fuel filter was the culprit and the fuel filter warning light did not come up?

Regarding the fuel tank air filter, even Sunrise Hyundai did not have a clue about it. Although its mentioned on the maintainance chart at all Hyundai Service Centers.

It has to be assumed as a fuel filter fault as nothing was detected by the scanner and the moment it was replaced everything became normal.
No warning light came anytime.

How did the fuel filter act up immediately after 4th service? Did they change the transaxle oil?

What about the mysterious part that noone has heard of?

What was the service amount?
