re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

As part of 80k kms servoce, I'm just done with some replacements in my Baleno. I went for all SGP replacements and those were:

Front left Lower Arm - 9260/-
3 Engine Mounts - 4k odd
One Wheel bearing - 5k odd
Spark plugs - 2k

and some misc things and service replacements. All other suspension and engine components were checked and declared fine for another 40k kms atleast.

Car's running tight now without a squeak and its awesome!!!

I recall a price of around 15K (incl labour) for both lower arms for my car.

3 engine mounts for 4K !! That's cheap. Last I checked, the set of 4 was 11k+ ! Can you check if the prices have been cut?

re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

anyone has changed the axles for baleno? Any idea how much they cost?

An aftermarket dealer , reading from Delphi booklet quoted Rs 7800 for a pair, is it the right price?

Have you tried asking for the repair kit for the master cylinder. I saw some for sale online, you never know there could be some company thats makes repair kits.
Another thing you can do is to ask your mech to open up the MC and find the faulty seal and see if you can salvage the same from your old MC you replaced 2 months back.
You could also try taking just the faulty seal to a O-ring shop and they might have a similar one. I did the same thing for my car when the brake caliper seal was worn and even after replacing the seal with OE parts it kept giving away, that's when I tried an o-ring shop and they fished out an seal that fitted right.

just found this on ebay

Hi Team,

I am looking for the below OEM parts of the Baleno Altura. Can anyone suggest where in Mumbai can these be sourced and prices for the same. Alternatively I wouldnt mind it being couriered from out of state if they are available and original.

Any help on the Shop Name, Contact Number, Email ID would be appreciated.

Parts required :
  • Tail Lamps (Complete set) - LHS and RHS
  • Rear Bumper
  • Monograms
  • Rear Spoiler
  • Rear parcel tray (not sure if this was available as OE equipment / accessory)

I hope this is of some help

Taillights - Here and here.

Which monograms do you need? Getting the Maruti Suzuki monogram would be easy. Just source it from an A.S.S.
Baleno logo might not be available with the a.s.s. since the car is not in production. You might get it from our local car markets like milan subway or the scrap market near kurla. Getting the small Altura logo might be a difficult task though.

re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

We finally managed to obtain used tail lights for the Altura from Kurla. They cost around 2500-3000 for a single piece.

Can anyone advise if such a spoiler was available through MUL as a standard or additional accessory? If not, what spoiler is best suitable without too much of modification?

Re: AC Condensor

My Baleno's AC decided to give up midway on a trip to Goa in Dec, on inspection it was found that AC gas was low. We refilled the gas and it worked for the trip, after we came back the car underwent a major 80K service including Clutch and Timing belt change. I did not use it much after that and was idle for a about 3 months as I was using our other car.
The AC issue cropped up again when we started using the car in March, the culprit was identified as the AC condenser. JK Automobiles had a no name replacement and charged me Rs 3100 for it, paid an additional 2400 for AC gas, compressor oil and labour. Ac is back to its usual self.

Here are the details of the 80K service.

re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

The headlights of my Baleno are showing their age now, with the fiber becoming yellowed from heat and exposure, and scratched and glazed, and the inside reflector also not as shiny as it should be. In addition to better light, changing them would refresh the looks of the car itself.

However, the sealed beam assemblies are pretty expensive from what I hear for the Baleno. Any idea how much they cost from authorized MGA from the showrooms versus whether you can get the same original stuff from elsewhere at a cheaper rate?

Do you get non-original headlight assemblies for the Baleno? How is their performance (focus, throw, beam quality, etc.) Any preferred makes?
