Congrats @J.Ravi on the acquisition!

In the first set of pics, those 2 girls seem to cherish the moment more than anyone else.

Wasn't the discount supposed to be 70K?

This evening, I drove to India Garage and got the registration number plates fixed. Here are a couple of pics clicked with my Nokia Lumia 925.

As I am a retired pensioner, Mahindra did not extend the corporate discount [10 k] to me. I did not exchange my Linea, so, I didn't get the exchange bonus too [15 k].

You should have opted for Embossed number plates(IND) which gives a good look on the XUV If I am not wrong,I have heard that in near future embossed number plates would become mandatory on all the vehicles!!

This is a freebie given by the dealer, which I don't want to miss. To be frank, these registration number plates are good in quality. I may go in for embossed plates embedded in plastic frames later. My Linea has them already.

You are supposed to install high security registration plates(HSRPs), and not these plates. Dealer gives these plates for the temporary registration. The permanent number should be on HSRPs. They come from the RTO, and yes they are of the embossed variety

Don't think they are available yet, at least not in Chennai and Bangalore.

Mine is a permanent registration. Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are yet to implement HSRP rules. When introduced, sufficient time will be given for the existing vehicle owners to comply with HSRP.

HSRPs have been compulsory here in the NCR for two years now. Most new cars have them. Plates are of a good quality and do not break easily, even when driving on flooded roads. They come with a unique identification number, and a corresponding sticker is also given.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

Dear Friends,
Wish you all Happy New Year

After all the researches for many months, reading all posts, PM'ing so many fellow team-bhpians on various info, taking suggestions and what not... finally i took the cheetah delivery on Dec 19th

As someone mentioned, even i did not expect Sireesh auto to fully cover the car with satin cloth and they asked us to cut the ribbon though it was little embarrassing but they did make it as an special and memorable moment

I have taken rear guard and side steps as additional accessories from the dealer. They have given body cover and reverse camera as freebies.

Though i have taken the rear guard from the dealer (Mahindra make) it still interferes with the reverse sensors. But the issue is intermittent and I have to use the reverse camera to make the final call. I checked with the service engineers, all they have done is to adjust the guard little lower by pressing it hard.

I have taken Temporary Registration and i would be doing the actual registration during first week of Jan.

Its been more than 10 days of fantastic driving with the car and the experience is amazing. Thanks to all who have helped me directly and to all other fellow bhpians who helped me with loads of info thro their posts.

Congratulations! Wishing you many years of happy and safe motoring.

I too bought mine from Sireesh and took delivery on 27th December. Yes, the cutting of the ribbon, the attention with a bunch of them standing around and clapping was quite embarrassing!

Advance congrats. I find more Linea/Punto owners upgrade to XUV500. You bought your Linea before I did. It is going to be reversal of roles in case of XUV500!
