I was in a similar situation in Jan as my date was pushed out twice and I had an impending long trip coming up. At the very same moment Dark Safari was launched. It turned my head and I visited the Tata Showroom. I got to do three test drives and managed to book the safari that day. Within two weeks, I could drive out with a brand new XZA+ Dark Edition.

Now I have driven close to 7K Kms and am very happy with the decision that I took. Had I waited, I would have got my car in April as I transferred it to a friend. I have no regrets as the memories and drives done in last three months werent worth the wait.

If you ask me, try looking for a brand new Safari at multiple showrooms and you may get your car within couple of weeks.

Not discounting Mahindra or the dealers responsibility here, they're absolutely at fault. The lesson for others to learn here is to never make payment before completing a PDI yourself. I was very clear with my dealer that I will make payment only after I perform a thorough PDI myself and they had absolutely no issue with it.

I hope you get your vehicle soon and now that you have posted it here, Mahindra will likely resolve this quickly.

Not sure how relevant, but my wife had a similar issue with her OnePlus with our XUV 500, now that she's moved to Samsung its been working perfectly.

In other news, we booked the AX7L D AT. I am happy to wait the 90 weeks as my current XUV 500 2018 is perfectly fine. I prefer to change cars after 5-6 years, hence went ahead with the booking. We have asked the dealer to not rush for delivery, as we are in no hurry. He did say that the allotment is automated but he doesn't expect it to happen at least for a year.

We both test drove the car absolutely loved and if at all something better comes along by then, will take the loss of 2100 and cancel the booking.

Also hoping that most of these small niggles and issues are all ironed out by then, the SA also informed that there is M&M have no intention of a new variant for the XUV700 anytime soon, as their current focus is the Scorpio and later they will be focusing on an EV to compete with the Nexon (XUV300 EV?)

They look good, has anybody used these mats. This website also has sunshades for XUV700. By the way, Hotracks is likely to get mats like Kagu in a day or two; I talked to them today. Will update as soon as I have more info. Thanks

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

My original delivery for AX7L AWD was in July (after having booked on the 1st day). About a week back the delivery was advanced to June and the status on the website moved to "Order under Planning". But there has not been any movement post that. Wondering if anyone else has had the same experience and, typically, how much time does it take for the status to move to "Vehicle Production"? The dealership (Randhawa Motors Vikhroli) have not given much info either.

I got my vehicle delivered and the status was still "order under planning". So i will advise you not to take the status seriously. better followup with the dealer to get the vehicle status.

Connecting a phone with Wire for Android Auto doesn't make sense. Should be all wireless. I am not too fond of using wires :(
Lets hope OnePlus sorts this out in coming days with some update.

I also tried to upload my error message & query on their forum. Lets see what they respond. Will keep you guys posted about it.

Nobody, including the ones in Mahindra, have any idea about it. When i got my car in Jan, they said by Jan end I will get both Android Auto and Apple Carplay updates. Now it is May and they've fulfilled only half the promise

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Considerable amount of dust enters the cabin of my XUV 700 and settles on the dashboard and piano black trims.Though I drive with Airconditioning on 100% of time. This is strange considering the car comes with smart air purifier.
Can other users shed some light?

My status moved to Order under planning on 4th April, got invoiced on 27th April and reached stockyard on 2nd May. I have to add that unlike others, my online tracking status was updated correctly at each step.

The exact day the vehicle lands at the stockyard can only be conveyed by your dealer, the online portal simply shows vehicle arrived at dealership even when it's still in route from Chakan plant.

I have GFX brand mat in my City (bought from carhatke). They are not comparable to Kagu mat but very good for the price we pay. Very satisfied with it.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

With the rainy season fast approaching, I was looking for some windscreen treatment to make driving easier in rain.
I found formula 1 glass cleaner with rain repellent (amazon link)

Cleaned the windscreen & side windows using this. I am happy with the results. During heavy rain in Bangalore today, I did not need the wipers much.
Where earlier I found the auto mode at highest sensitivity to be inadequate, not the auto mode with the lowest sensitivity seems too high.
The water forms large beads & flows down automatically. I found it extremely useful at low as well as high speed.

Video

Did not see any hazing effect at night. The trick is to use less product & use 2 different microfiber cloths to remove it from the glass.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Recently completed PDI of my MX Diesel variant. The staff at Salasar, Panvel were courteous and helpful. Went as per the team-bhp checklist. ODO reading was 31.5km. Overall the inspection went well. However, had following major observations
1. The boot does not unlock remotely using the boot release button on the key. On enquiring with CRM, I was informed that this feature is not available on MX variants. I was like what's the point in giving the button on the key when it can't be used. Can fellow owners of MX variant confirm that this is correct?
2. Front power windows had some abnormal sound while rolling up. This was just before the glass reaches the top most position. CRM has assured that this will be taken care of during their internal PDI. I did not find this issue on any other XUV700 parked in the stockyard.
3. Lastly, only one key will be delivered with the car at the moment. Other key will be handed over after 4-6 months.
I booked on 7th Oct. 2021 with the original delivery scheduled between 15-22 June 2022. I expect to complete all the formalities next week and welcome The Dark Knight into our family.
Cheers!
