One of the best movies I have ever seen

The whole movie is a roller-coaster ride !

And this movie was discussed multiple times in this thread and every time, the bhpian who brings this movie into the discussion would have blown away by it .

Totally agree. One of the best I have ever seen. And everybody who I referred this to has also had the same opinion!

I must have watched it over 20 times and I can watch it again without getting bored at all. There are not many movies I can say this for. Probably only the likes of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction etc.

Yes, "Man from Earth" was a good watch. Amazing how such a simple setting and a strong script keeps one glued to the screen.
The movies quoted by you are all awesome as well.
For younger folks/millennials, I recommend "Back to the Future" trilogy. A cult classic with awesome easter eggs in the sequels which bring joy to the eagle-eyed audience.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched The Tomorrow War on Amazon.

2/5.
Got some Terminator vibes. But it's the tiring, typical heroism tropes that finally got me and I lost interest. Right from cliché sacrificial music when main character does anything to each magazine having 300+ rounds to cool old American dad to bros who are ready to die for someone they met a day ago - they have you covered.

It's probably good to have it running in the background while you do WFH. Missing a good 5-7 minutes here and there won't affect your experience. In fact if you miss the entire movie itself, that'd be okay too.

+1. It took me 3 days to complete watching the movie. I slept off in less that 30 mins on first 2 days. Despite being a sci-fi movie, the story line feels too artificial to connect the scenes/events with the main character.

This is me too! Love the movie. There’s some charm about it which keeps pulling me back to watching it.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Most of Netflix shows and movies are bad with some decent/good ones time to time.

Have been watching Fear Street with Part 1 released last week on Netflix. Its a slasher movie and I actually thought it was quite decent. They have made the story in a trilogy and Part 2 came out today. The final part will be released next week.

3.5/5 for both the parts.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched couple of new releases this week.

1. Fast and Furious 9 - 1/5
Watched this as had stepped out being bored and thought of passing time. I ended up snoozing some parts of the movie. Very boring and avoidable. Hope they stop making any more movies or else they may make a new one with spaceships raced across and having an alien as a long lost Torreto family member.

2. Black Widow - 3/5
Felt this was ok. A bit slow at some parts, has couple of good action scenes with a bit of family drama thrown in. Keep your expectation low. An extra point just for Sca Jo.

It is. Some scenes were intentionally made brutal.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

All right! You all made your point. I'm watching "The Man from Earth" again.

Such an amazing movie that is. Entire thing is shot in a single room. For those who haven't watched it, I guarantee, you would be in that room as well. And if you are anything like me, you would stay there for another couple days.

Ice Road

The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)-v1_.jpg

We have seen this in the past - Ordinary guy takes the responsibility of saving the life of others then the bad guy tries to stop him.

Nothing special other than the location. Some of the graphics were pretty bad though considering it was a Hollywood movie. It's watchable.

Rating - 3/5
