You can purchase Meguiars products from 3M Car Care at Andheri and Bandra. For any other brand you could try BringingBest Impex. Email to Mr Sanjay at sanjay@bringingbest.com and he should be able to help you out with your purchase.
You can even try AutoMall at Ebay. Link.

Hope it helps you.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Guys, please advice me on this. My second free service is coming up on the 30th of April. Is it the right time now to go for DIY detailing, as the finish achieved could be marred by the dealership guys during the servicing? What I am thinking of is to apply a nice coating of collinite 845 insulator wax after the detailing process, which should also provide some sort of protection against minor swirls induced during the car wash, given as part of the free servicing. Or should I go ahead with the detailing after the free service?

Suggestions solicited.

I would suggest you to do the detailing session after the free service as those workshop mechanics with their greasy hands can mar the finish. After free servicing, just wash the car with car shampoo and go ahead with the detailing.

No. The first point has the reference of checking under harsh sun reflecting on the paint. That way you can see swirls & overall finish on the paint.
The last point has the reference of checking the mirror effect under daylight without any light glare.
I also pay attention to the depth of colour. This is seen at an angle where there is no reflection or glare under daylight.

Do not even think of detailing a car before giving it in service. Those guys will wash your car like mindless idiots and mar the finish.

Hello friends,
I have a White ANHC, and have already applied Collinite Insulator wax on the car. However i am not satisfied with the gloss achieved, as white color doesn't show the wet look as darker colors show. Can you guys advice me if i can top up the collinite application with something that can add extra gloss to my White car ?
Thanks in advance.

Is shampooing the car daily harmful for the paint?

No it wont harm the paint. But why would you want to waste so much water by washing daily. That would definately harm the environment!

Did you wash the car properly before applying the wax? Apply a second coat if you want the extra shine and protection.

C845 is not a 'Wax' it is more sealant than wax.

What you can do, is apply a coat of a good Carnauba based wax (Formula1 original, Turtle wax etc) or silicon wax. (Eagle Nano wax). This will give you the slick wet look that you are looking for.

The C845 will protect while the wax will give the wet look.

Made a big typo mistake. I actually meant to type Borivali.

There are two 3M Car Care Centre in Mumbai.
Andheri:
Laxmi Industrial Estate, Linking Road,, Andheri (West), Mumbai.

Borivali:
Shop 2-7, Aditya Apartment, Near Borivali Biryani Centre, Link Road, Chikuwadi, Borivali (West).

And one of there new store opened up in Navi Mumbai at Opp. Seawoods Estates, Palm Beach Rd. Navi Mumbai.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Was driving the car from the workshop last evening when it rained. Took some pictures of the car today. Haven't washed it yet, but the damage looks extensive.

Any ideas on how I could get rid of these irritating yet omnipresent stains?

FYI, here's a link to my Cruze body issues thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...ml#post2738542.

These are water stains and will need a light run of a compound or polish to take off. Products like Ultimate compound, Swirl X, Ultimate Polish (from Meguiars) and Hyper spray polish by Optimum.

Thanks for your reply nirmal. Can you tell me where I can obtain these compounds from? The closest Meguias office is in Delhi and they don't have any of these in stock. Do you know of anyone in Bangalore who can send these to Kanpur by courier?

Where do you get these items from?
