Re: The iPhone Thread

I use the Anker product line of charging cables for Apple products. My current one is in use for the last 2.5 years and shows no sign of aging.

Amazon Basics is my preferred choice now. Their braided cable lasts pretty long and you have option to choose the length. For cheaper options, get only MFI certified cables. I used one from MTT earlier which didnt last long. But these AmazonBasics cables are all over my house and none of them have failed. I usually dont use the Apple provided cable during travelling or frequent movements. Its best to be kept in a single place. If you want to use the cable in a car or while travelling, braided cables are best. For use within the pocket or with a power bank, get the non braided cable from Amazon.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Left field question. Is is possible to source an iPhone SE now? Discontinued a while ago and not available on most reliable online channels.

Thank you! I'm going to try Anker, or Boat this time. Got some strong 'gorilla like' tape on the cuts. And its holding firm

Haven't used the ones for iPhone myself, but for some reason had bought the boAt "Indestructible Apple Certified Lightning Cable" cable for my cousin sister years back, and she loved it. My uncle saw it and got one for himself too.

AmazonBasics makes great stuff too.

Thanks!

Never scrolled beyond the first few entries, and thought most on sale now are probably refurbished.

I'll check these out.

Re: The iPhone Thread

There are many discount offers going on currently on the XR. I was planning to replace my 3.5 years old 6S with the XR. I read that XR2 will be releasing this September. Is it worth waiting till September? I understand that it will have 2 cameras. Possibly better battery life. But then again it will be much costly than XR. I suspect it will be priced at around 80-85k for 128 GB( just my guess) and I do not wish to spend that much. So will I be losing any important features from XR2 if I buy XR apart from 2 cameras? I know its too early to predict the features of an unreleased phone, but still asking this. As it is I am not too much into photography.
XR is less than 60k now if we consider the offers.

Go for it! The XR 2 will be mostly an improvement on camera side. I am owning the XR now and its good for another 2 years atleast. Agree with your point on not spending close to 85k for the new iphone.

Re: The iPhone Thread

From the leaks, a new processor and the twin camera are the major changes in the new XR. Price will be more in India compared to current XR. If you arent too much into portrait pics with the phone camera, then go with the current XR.

You will still get the latest updates and so I dont see a need to wait for the latest one. But, if you can wait for another year, then discounts will come in for the XR2 as well, with the caveat being that XR3 leaks might confuse you to go for that

Re: The iPhone Thread

Go for XR, awesome phone and battery life. And who would want the U G L Y upcoming iPhones anyway (if leaks are to be believed)?

iPhone XR at current prices with cashbacks etc. and with small tweaks for fast charging is a no brainer deal for anyone looking for iOS.

I am using a XR and it is one of the best and VFM iphones out there. Does everything you need from a flagship.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Go for the XR Brigadier. I was on a 6s 64 GB and Dad on a 7 128GB. Dad's fingerprints are next to none at 74. Fingerprint sensors never worked for him, so picked up a 128 GB White XR on Amazon 2 weeks back, at (64999 - 10% immediate discount on HDFC CC) + hopeful of 10X Smartbuy points. I have shifted to the 7.
As of today, Amazon has the lowest price of Rs 63999 -10% immediate discount for a 128 GB. I believe this is on till 13 June.

He is enjoying the face unlock and his problem is sorted out. The phone is taller and thicker than the the 6/7/8/X/XS series, but he has adjusted himself. Earlier his phone would be in his office shirt pocket, now in his Trouser pockets.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Thanks a lot guys for the replies. I went ahead and bought the new iPhone XR 128GB black from apple store. Preferred to buy it from physical store even if it was expensive by 1k as compared to amazon. They threw in a free wireless charger as well. Got to say the XR cases and the screen guards were damn expensive at the store, but had to buy the case and screen guard as I had no choice
Anyway, the XR is simply terrific! Thanks again for the replies!
Cheers !
