Should i backup my photographs and videos before the hard reset or will they stay on the phone?

Thanks
Yes do a factory reset and make sure to backup everything. Else all will be lost. The reset can be done from the Settings > About menu.

Edit: All the best. Hope it's only a simple software issue.

An update. I finally got time to fix the phone after a busy day. Just updated the phone with the latest update and that resolved the issue for now. The sound is working on all the systems i.e. earpiece, headset and speakers. Some relief after an entire day of not being able to use the phone.

Thanks once again for your suggestion. In any case, resetting the phone would have helped because, even during update after the backup, the phone is reset, correct me if I'm wrong here.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Phone reset during updates depends on the type of update. It happens only during updates where system or critical OS files are updated.

Oh I didn't know that. It did take backup and resetting phone data was also shown. I updated with the latest windows 7.10 version so i guess thats why the reset happened.

I forgot to add, backups are taken during all updates automatically. Major or minor update doesn't matter.

Yes so many times it took the backups. I had quite a lot of updates pending.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

A glee moment for existing WP 7.5(Nokia Lumia) users. Nokia has announced Bluetooth file sharing feature for existing range of Lumia phones(800,710,610)!

What exactly do you want to upgrade to? You have 3 choices. You can upgrade to Win 6.5.5 or Android or Windows phone 7. If you were in Bangalore I could have helped you out as I all the necessary files with me.

I wanted to upgrade to Win7 as my friend is more fond on Win OS.
is it any possible way to ship the files by mail if the size is not big enough.

WP7 files are all available. If your friend doesn't use Bluetooth then you can use the ROM by a cook called pdaimatejam. Link to the correct forum attached below.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=977

Edit: I use the ROM by a guy called Ansar as I have found it to be the most stable.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Silent launch for Lumia 900. Overpriced in my opinion.
