Ex-Showroom price for 2012 GP 1.3 MJD Emotion (BNW) - Rs.604825/-

..

As the car will be registered in AP the road tax calculation on ex-showroom price @ 12% comes to Rs. 72579/- and the total OTR cost sums up to Rs. 6,98,904/-.

This is the final price offered by them. Need expert advise. Is it a good deal ? Tried for free insurance but in vain.

Please suggest
Appears to be a cash discount of Rs 1.1 Lacs which is fair. There are not too many GP MJD Emotion 2012 left and very few dealers are willing to take the headache of selling the 2012 cars.

Please check if the dealer has factored in the cost of replacing the battery, all fluids (engine oil, brake, transmission etc). Also, please physically inspect the car for any rust or scratches. Please ask the dealer to provide you the chassis no of the car to cross-check that this is indeed a 2012 car.

Try to get 2 year extended warranty, RSA, mats, mud flaps, 3M underbody protection, paint protection thrown in as freebies - whatever you can manage. You have to be completely shameless in asking for these and be persistent.

I will check with the Nagpur dealer and will revert in case the offer is better than the one you have received.

Nishith,
This is the max they could offer, I tried a lot and even spoke to their Director who is active on the Team fiat website but since it's a stock transfer from Concorde motors and gets them zero margin on sale it couldn't be stretched beyond it. Tried for free insurance too but in vain. I checked the vins and found both of them manufactured in Nov and Oct 2012.

I am taking help of someone to do the pdi check before moving forward.

hope all hoes well.

Well, the good part seems to be that you are getting Nov / Oct 2012 cars instead of Jan / Feb 2012 car. I think you should go ahead in case the vehicle is passed by your friend in his inspection.

Even I am in the market for the same car.

The discounts are around 30K on the car with 10-15K exchange bonus, 10K corporate discount.

Will confirm the exact figures in the coming days.

Ohh!

What about customers who have already booked a car and awaiting delivery?!

Price hike protection given or they have to pay this extra amount?

So now the Vento Highline goes into the next tax bracket in Karnataka and people will have to shell out the price hike plus another 40K plus on road tax as well.

It was in next tax bracket (>10 lakhs) here in AP even before the price rise. SA was telling me that they can work around it by splitting invoice into 2. I am not sure if the RTO will let them take it for ride like this.

VW's sales contract mentions that price prevalent at the time of billing will apply and hence there is no price protection !

This has always been ever so confusing. From what I know and many members have confirmed that the RTO has a price list listing the ex showroom price of the car as prescribed by the company. And the tax is calculated on that. They don't change it on car to car basis. So what many people say that the dealer is giving discount on ex showroom price and hence they can save on tax is false. Since the RTO will not take that into account and hence it doesn't make any difference whether you take the discount off the final OTR price or the ex showroom price. Similarly the dealer cannot draw 2 invoice and divide the payment. The RTO doesn't work like that. Imagine if this was true then the dealer can make a deal with every customer in which they offer the customer discount on ex showroom price from his side and reduce the road tax. Lets say the customer saves 30k in road tax. The dealer can then ask the customer to pay a percentage of that amount to him and hence create a win win situation for both with the loss being booked to the RTO. Getting what I am trying to say?

Which dealer is this in Bangalore?

VW Palace cross sells the Vento for a much lower price than the others. Reason? They absorb around 15K of the ex-showroom cost and show ex-showroom as 9.98. This falls under lower road tax by almost 4% and you save in effect almost 50K.

Other dealers do not do this. On road is less than 12L.

This was at VW Whitefield. I got a quote from VW palace cross but didn't know they did this! I assumed it to be the old pricing. The VW Palace Cross quote is 12.16L with extended warranty. 40k or so more than Ecosport diesel titanium option.
