Yes. They have to. For my THAR last year, I asked them to match my quote or I get from outside. They did match almost. Mahindra is just one tweet away if you want to escalate the matter and they are very wary of any such escalation. However, my experience suggests to settle this amicably and that helps in the long run unless dealer is hell bent on their quote. This battle needs to be fought as the amount at stake is substantial. Will be around 40K-50K for scorpio.

I had asked about part payment and was told no option available. Let me check with the dealer again on what is possible. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry, I guess my post was not clear. I was referring to SBI here. There is apparently penalty on part pre payment. Have you considered that in your calculations?

Ok, no there is not. I am currently paying back an SBI auto loan, and there is no part payment fees.

I suggest all members to take the finances from the banks which provide over draft facility. Although the interest rate could be a little higher (in decimals) but you get the full control on the loan, parking of additional funds and liquidity.

I always has this practice and many banks provide the overdraft facility for Auto loans and home loans. Please explore.

I got an email from the dealer few days back stating that the vehicle is in transit and the chassis no allocated vehicle. Chassis no indicates that the vehicle was manufactured in July. Anyone else got VIN\chassis nos?

Mahindra website still shows the vehicle under order under planning for me(several days after the dealer shared the chassis no), so I guess the website updates are delayed by several days...

Just checked the insurance quote from HDFC Ergo for my Z8L D AT 4x4 with all required optional add ons which comes to 90k including GST. For similar policy dealer has quoted 1.42L. IDV is considered as 23.38L.

Dealership are asking unrealistic prices for insurance because of the high demand of their vehicles. Plus accessories which have high markup. Same accessories can be bought from m2all.com for nearly Rs 1000 less.
