Can see Bridgestone Ecopia EP850 tyres in your car. This is certainly better than the MRF being used earlier.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi All,
I have been following this thread for quite some time now. It has been great source of info & updates on everything related to the SUV. Thanks for providing all the valuable information.
I got my vehicle delivered on 27th Feb (AX7 P AT). The experience till now has been fantastic. The power is addictive & coming from a 2013 i20 petrol, XUV 700 is a whole another world.
Here are the pros & cons I have experienced until now.

Pros
1. The ride quality is great. It glides over uneven surfaces at highway speeds. Low speed ride quality is also above average.
2. Easy to handle in city. I am reminded of the large size of the vehicle only when I am trying to park it, at all other times it handles just like a hatchback/sedan.
3. Fun to drive. It is great fun to drive on open roads, overtaking any vehicle is not a fuss at all.
4. Air conditioning. The AC is super quick to cool the cabin.
5. Alexa - It works flawlessly. My 2.5 yr old son loves alexa as she plays all the songs/poems he wants. He tells anyone who listens that "his new car has alexa inside it". Though I am yet to figure our how to make it source music from Amazon music, rather than Hungama. Any help here would be great.

Cons
1. There is a slight rattling from the middle seat. I was not able to find the source. Planning to ask the SA to look into it in the first service.
2. White interiors are difficult to maintain. Shockingly the vehicle had some dirt mark on the interiors which I failed to catch before the delivery. Hopefully I should be able to get them cleaned out in the first service.

I had some questions for the more experienced owners (as I was unable to find answers on my own)
1. The dial controller for the infotainment system, either works for browsing or volume control. Is there any way in which both could be controlled via the dial.
2. What is acceptable & max mileage in city use. I am currently getting 8.5 - 9 Km/L irrespective of how I drive (normal or light-footed). Any help on what driving style gives the best mileage will be really helpful.
3. What paint protection is most suitable for the mid night black color? Normal wax, ceramic, graphene, PPF? Some combination of these?
4. How to change music source to Amazon music in Alexa?

I always turn off the ICE before shutting the car. And turn it on once I’m out of the compound. Don’t know just an old habit. Even with the XUV500 in the past. It would be great if you could circle back with your experience.

I have the user profile setup in my car, but haven’t seen any difference. As i have chosen Bluetooth as preferred source, but still the radio turns on by default the moment I turn on the ICE. Does the profile feature work for you? And just to confirm in the Adrenox app, do you choose to keep the defroster off when remotely starting the engine. For me it allows to customise the duration and temperature. But even if I select the defrosters to be off it turns them on by default.

Don’t get me wrong the app is great, but there is so much room for improvement and its low hanging fruit.

Thanks for your help!
Cheers!

The XUV comes default with either Hungaama, Gaana or Jio Saavn. You can’t choose the source. MOst of my songs are either played via Humgaama or by Gaana, but only one or two occasions I have noticed its played from Saavn. Others have tried to make Amazon music work but I believe without any success. But with Android Auto which is now available, I believe it may be possible. If like me you’re waiting for CarPlay then the wait will be longer.

Look at your middle row seatbelts. If they are not fixed in the holder clips (when not in use) on the B-Pillar then you tend to hear that rattle. For me it was that, but not experienced any other rattle.

You can make the intellicontroller work for both. Set it to volume for the rotary dial, and use the same as a joystick to browse through the widgets.

Most reviews by users and otherwise have reported the same mileage in the city. I have a diesel and it gives me only about 9.5 in the city and about 11-14 on highway use.[/quote]

Any idea on actual user's mileage for the Petrol AT & manual, both in city ( bumper to bumper ) & Highway driving with light-footed and aggressive driving?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Happy to share that my XUV700 D AT Luxury Pack AWD Dazzling Silver is getting delivered on 20th March, Sunday in Pune.

I had booked the vehicle on the launch day on 7th October with the dealership Unnati Motors, Viman Nagar and the booking details on Mahindra XUV700's official website showed the estimated delivery in June-July 2022 - it still shows the same.

However, dealer called a week ago to inform that the car is allotted and arrived at their stockyard. I visited the stockyard yesterday afternoon for the PDI and everything looked okay. I had to negotiate hard on the insurance from the dealer and after much negotiations they agreed to match the quotation that I received from outside.

Also opted for the Extended Warranty for 4th and 5th years (1,50,000 kms) at INR27,500.

Overall, excellent experience so far and can't wait to get behind the wheel on Sunday

Hi, looks like there has been a notification from Mahindra to Service Centers on this issue. Please see below video (@4:15) for the details.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Came across below video on YouTube.

It's petrol, owner got it under some VIP scheme. He booked in Nov and got it delivered in Dec.
He has covered 11000kms in very short span of time. Not a single issue faced.
Claims he has touched 197km/hr
He is getting 9-12 km/ltr fuel efficiency.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

After the first service of my XUV 700 A7 D AT, I have noticed that the outside temperature does not update for a long time. It updates the outside temperature only once the car has run around 8 to 10 km continuously at a speed above 40 km.

I took the car to the service centre where they thought this could be an issue with the external temperature sensor which sits behind the front grill. The service centre ordered the part and called me for the replacement.

Today when I went for the replacement, the new sensor was not detecting the outside temperature. The service team connected with the Mahindra's internal Tech support team where they were made to know that the car needs to be driven for at-lest 7 minutes with speed above 15 km for the sensor to update the outside temperature. This seems to be very strange. I had never seen this with any of the other cars that I have / had (Honda City / Ciaz).

Even after installing the new Sensor (as informed by the service centre) I am not seeing any difference in the time being taken to update the outside temperature.

The delay in updating the outside temperature confuses the Automatic Climate Control, as the ACC takes into consideration the outside temperature set the cabin temperature.

Has anyone seen similar behaviour with their XUV 700? Should the temperature not get updated within a minute of starting the car?

Thanks for the help.
I had already checked the seatbelts, they are already secured. Noise seems to be coming from some other source.

Took the car for a short highway run today & got a mileage of 13.9 on MID, which I think is amazing for a vehicle of this size & 200 bhp power.

I also got Garware ice cool sun control film installed on all the windows. The difference is noticeable. The cabin is much more comfortable & cools down faster. The visibility is 70%+ which makes is barely noticeable from outside. I would highly recommend this film to anyone looking for a sun control film.

The ASC gave back the car today evening; they were totally professional and responsive throughout. They drained petrol completely out of canister and did multiple test drives under different conditions, and the issue seem to have completely gone away. I couldn't notice any degradation in performance or mileage too; and no petrol smell anymore.

The ASC mentioned similar thing too; Mahindra has a recommendation published not to fill petrol after the first automatic shut-off. Ideally Mahindra should be sending this as an advisory through AdrenoX app or email to customers!

While the ASC suspected that overfilled tank cause the canister to be flooded, I am pretty sure that the tank was not filled after automatic shut-off. But there seem to be some scenarios in which a full tank can cause the canister to be flooded. I have decided not to fill full tank for a while; especially if I know I am not going to drive at least 50km immediately after filling.

In my case they did not replace the canister though, but just drained it fully. They mentioned that they confirmed with Mahindra that flooding cannot damage canister. There was yet another EMS update they applied too; which came out 3 days back.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

@nickelniks

Not trying to scare you, but when I had been to get the climate sensor replaced for mar car yesterday, there was this white XUV AX7 which was just 1 day old and had blown it's silver box due to installation of Sun film on the windshield.

As per the service advisor, silver box sits under the dashboard. While installing the sun film, the water gets behind the dashboard which causes this issue.

Cost of replacing the silver box is ₹75k and this scenario does not call for a warranty replacement.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Had a query regarding MX variant of XUV 700. Does it have mount points for fixing OEM 3rd row seats that can fold down flush to floor or after market mod is the only way to put in 3rd row in it?

Not sure if Mahindra is intentionally misleading customers on this particular issue. Filling the tank to the brim is unrelated to engine power loss. What I and Impala faced is the consequence of a badly designed EVAP setup. Let Mahindra prove otherwise.
