Oh dear. It is still under warranty right ?
How much kms have you clocked so far ?
Kindly keep us updated on this issue. I wonder what will be the owners satisfaction after the warranty period is over.

Don't you have 3 year warranty?

Why is brake-assembly being repaired? Shared hydrolics ...clutch and brakes?

First one should be covered under warranty. Second and third is your expense i guess.

One question though. You said your clutch went kaput so why this brake assembly?

Ok, so the start/stop came back alive on its own. The RM wants me to bring the car if it stops working again. All I did was to increase AC temp from 24 to 26 in the evening when it was raining. So It has something to do with the AC/outside temp ?

re: Mahindra XUV500 niggles & solutions

Recently i am hearing a Krrr krrr noise the moment i start the engine first thing in the morning. It only last for few seconds during the initial start and goes off after 4-5 seconds. It sounds as if its the belts rubbing on to something. Anyone else heard or facing this thing? What could it be?

Same here.
Every time I start the car after a gap of say 3-5 hours, I hear the same harsh noise for 4-5 seconds and then the engine settles into its normal running tune. This wasn't happening earlier but has recently started occurring in the last 2k kms. My XUV has run 32k kms. Even I was wondering what the issue is and how to explain it to the A.S.S.
It would be great if someone would shed some light on the above happening.

How old is your XUV??
Have the battery checked. Start/Stop sometimes doesn't work if the system on board feels it will be a burden on the battery, because this function heavily relies on it.

re: Mahindra XUV500 niggles & solutions

Hi

I have done 23k on my one year old xuv w8 and so far (touch wood) it has been a relatively issue free experience except for a couple of things.
1. Braking was an issue earlier but subsequently got fixed with replacement
2. Creaking / rattling noise - continues till date and have again given it to ASS (3rd service got over a month back)
3. The low beam is absolutely of no use while driving in the night and all that i hear is either live with it or get additional lights. Please provide what would be the best option that doesn't void the warranty.

1. Replace existing H7 low beam with Osram NB / Philips XtremeVision - 55w
2. HiD conversion kit for low beam (what does it do actually ?)
3. Get a pair of Hella 3003 fog lamps and mount it with clamps sourcing power from battery directly with an independent on/off switch. This costs anywhere between 9000 - 15000 is what i have been told.

Thanks & Warm Regards
AJ

I would suggest please go for a HID conversion kit from a reputed brand. The kit consists of Xenon bulbs, relays and ballasts. Its powered from the battery directly and no existing wires need to be cut or spliced for HID conversion kit installation. Please opt for 4300K Xenons, although they are difficult to find in the market. We (a bunch of XUV owners) did a group-buy for Morimoto HID conversion Kits. Got them imported and installed locally. Costed us around 12000 Rs each all inclusive, kit-price, customs, installation. Individual import price would be higher. The quality is superb and quite a few of us would vouch for the better illumination. All the best.

re: Mahindra XUV500 niggles & solutions

Thanks SDP for pointing me in the right direction. If there are other XUV owners in Bangalore who have done the HID conversion, do share some details as to who/where it can be done.
