Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

hi

Please suggest a good film of the laura. Given the current ban on sunfilms one of the shops suggested lumar air 75 or 80 which is supposed to be transparent. But the cost is quite expensive with the entire coming to cost excess of 20 K

Any other suggestions.

Suggest you get 3M CR70 for the front which should be around 7k. And that for the rear too if possible, since that will cut out a large amount of heat. For the sides I think any 50% film will do, since cops can see inside they won't really bother you. Do remember to put on your interior light at any naka bandi at night to lessen the chances of them stopping you.

For the sides any specific 3M film you can recommend. Will get it all done at the 3M care center at Andheri.

Infact for sides would recommend Vkool, those are better than 3M with 50% visibility. Should cost around 6k for sides and back or 3.5 only for sides.

See, 70% film all around will be safer, as you said it costs alot but then cops will never trouble you. With 50% still if some cop is out to make money he will fine you, but most of the time they should let you go without a hassle. Just thought I'd post this since I don't wanna be the reason for anyones money going to waste.

So to be safest, get something like 3M CR70 all around, it will work well and you do need sunfilm in Mumbai also especially since the Lauras air conditioner is not top class.

That looks good and cant imagine you have films. Since you already tested it's heat rejection abilities, I'm interested in this. Have one question. I already have front windshield films and the car looks kind of dark from the front (although all other windows have no films). If i install these films, will it make it darker. I know it's 100% transparent but just a question. I have those road sun shades on the rear windows and the passengers windows making it more darker.

Let me know. Looks super cool. I really need to do something regarding the heat.

Hi naveen.raju

I don't think it will make darker since it's fully transparent.Only thing is the color of interior.Mine is a beige one so it looks more bright from outside. My friend's Figo has a black interior and even though it appears darker than mine, it is clearly visible for the police eyes .So don't worry about this film.I can guarantee that.

If you need the contact details please PM me.

I too would like to know about ICE COOL for the front windshield. They are offering it for my Fiesta for Rs. 3200/- which includes the labour charges.

Are there particular shades available within this ICE COOL category also?

Plus, I thought of changing the sun-film that I already have on my side windows. Will it be advisable to keep Garware SRC International or so? The NF Lite mini that I have appears to be too light. Is there any difference between the "lite" varieties and Garware Classic, etc?

Vipin.

Do you think this is reasonable? Should I haggle more for discount?

Do search. Its one of the most used brand/model around.

I have the film on all sides, and I will say that there is good heat rejection. Can actually feel that difference if I keep the side windows half-open.

Reg front film, it makes a lot of difference. There is heat reduction from front also, but the bigger benefit is - the reduction harshness of bright day-light in the direction of travel, esp in summer and is very noticeable.

Considering that I would not want to put films on the side thus attracting the attention of the cops,

What would be my options for a near invisible film for the front windscreen?
And would it even be effective without the side films?

PS: it's getting very hot in Delhi :(

Sides very important - if the front film reduces harshness to eyes, the film on the sides really helps reduce the discomfort of the heat.

Why not use the same near invisible film on the sides too ?
