Congratulations for your brand new Octavia. The car looks very sharp and Style variant's alloys look more elegant IMHO. Have you noticed any rear suspension squat when the car is fully loaded?

Mod Note: Please quote ONLY the relevant bits of a post. Quoting a full, long post inconveniences our mobile readers.

Exactly same here. Booked 17th May. Got a call that car has been allocated (White L&K) and will be delivered sometime this month. Fingers crossed to be honest

Based on yours and Totality update, I called up KUN.

They coolly said, yes we received a mail yesterday about the allocation and expected by month end.
I wonder what kind of Customer focus is that.

Anyway, the sad part is, they are asking me to pay the Increased price although I booked it way back in Apr.
Have asked them for the updated Price before I proceed.

I think that’s the norm unless they have promised price protection. It’s 29.85L Ex-Showroom for L&K.

But glad that you’ve gotten yours allocated as well. Chennai roads need more Octavias

Re: Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI DSG Review

Just completed my 1000KMs on this beauty. Have now started to rev her till 3K RPM and its addictive to say the least !! The car hates bumper to bumper traffic and punishes you with something like :

While on open highways and below 100, it shines:

Thanks, yes, I hardly see any 4th gen Octavia on the roads here. In the last 2 month's might have spotted just one or two.

HM keeps asking, are you sure you are doing the right thing, already she feels I am crazy to be buying such an expensive car

Oh, 4.2 I don't want to see that
Is it like you maintain RPM and speeds below 100km/h until 1000 Kms ?

Not speed per say but RPM below 2-2.5K. I maintained speed as otherwise you immediately get 2000/- speeding ticket on that part of the highway

That 4kmpl was pretty bad traffic as I moved only 3 KMs in 50 mins but otherwise my usual office commute of 24 KMs (80% highway - which does not look like highway anymore) gives me 12-13.5 KMPL. My overall 1000+ KMs FE now stands at 10.8 KMPL.

I knew what I am getting into and a monthly run of approx 700 KMs would not trouble my wallet even with this kind of FE. The car otherwise is a delight and gives you much more in terms of driving experience + an entry level German luxury.

There are quiet a few in Bangalore (by D segment standards). Infact in my office parking lot there are 3. But on other note, I guess Skoda sales are generally good in Bangalore and also in Kerala.

Got it, thanks. I was wondering if there's a recommendation from Skoda on not exceeding a particular Speed limit until we complete 1000 Kms or so.

For example my Nexon has this type of recommendation until the First service, hence asked.

Wow, so soon, excellent.
I remember seeing a Post from one of the TBhpians in this same thread about 'TimetoShine'.

You may want to check it out.

Re: Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI DSG Review

Any recommendations for doing a Ceramic coating or PPF in Chennai.
KUN has already quoted a price for the Ceramic coating but I am thinking whether to do it there or elsewhere.

Check out Krithi Car Care. Several BHPians vouch for their top quality work and service. It is also run by a BHPian who is very passionate about maintaining his cars.

Get it done from dedicated shops who do this work instead of dealerships who employ folks to do this. They'll do a much better job dedicating time for each car with attention to detail whereas dealerships will pass off any shoddy jobs.

Check out OCD at Adyar - Directory link

Dropping a recommendation Drive Clean for ceramic coating. Run by Gurubaran, its a one-man job. He does everything on his own so takes him time to do it. Incredible attention to detail and I've got my car detailed by him. His work speaks for itself and with some added care from us after the detailing, the gloss lasts a really long time. He doesn't do PPF though.
